MultiFan In Line Fan 125mm with Timer

After a bit of a trawl through the available options, I chose this Kair MultiFan In-Line Fan to replace the unbranded one that had failed after over 15 years of service. The Kair MultiFan I chose is the 125mm version with a timer. It was a cinch to fit and wire up with different power setting choices. The fan unit itself separates from the mounting bracket and duct connections to allow easy positioning and fixing. The fan unit then slots back in between the duct housings and is secured by simple retaining clips which are held in place by small screws provided. The instructions were pretty easy to understand after got my head around them. I opted to wire it up for full power which involved reattaching the existing cable to the Neutral, Live and Switched Live terminals. A little plastic screwdriver is provided to alter the timer setting. Out of the box the fan turned off after about four minutes, a simple turn of the control adjusts the timer duration which I have now set to about eight minutes. It does the job of keeping the bathroom from steaming up far better than the previous fan had ever done and the noise level is only slightly higher and by no means unpleasant. It comes with a two-year warranty and only time will tell how long it lasts but, so far I'm very pleased with my purchase. Thank you.

Super quiet and much more efficient than the old fan. Easy to fit, wiring not a problem after watching you tube video.

Kiar,125mm fan with overun timer. Good fan fitted okay. Good that the fan can be removed from the mounting bracket. Electric wiring was a bit confusing. You tube came to the rescue. Basicly the L,live is not the switched live,its the constant live. LT,means live from a Light switch,,not constant live for the overun timer as I thought. So initially I had the lives the wrong way and the fan didnt run. I used the full power setting,if using the low power option then watch you tube,as you need to split the constant live,or use 4 core. So far all good.

Great power extraction

This a very noisy fan to use in the bathroom. Even though the fan is above in the attic, acoustic ducting used and the fan fixed on rubber mounting feet it's still noisy. It lasted just over a year before the timer packed up so the fan now runs continuously until disconnected. The previous vent-axia fan lasted over 20 years without any problem so I wouldn't describe the Kair fan to be reliable. I'll now have to replace the fan but I'll be looking for a quieter and more reliable fan as I don't want to keep replacing the fan every year, it's just too much hassle.

Very pleased with this fan which has a run on timer. Extraction rate even on lowest of two settings was twice as powerful as my old one. Learnt a lesson by installing this 350mm above bathroom ceiling on a wooden stand and loft insulation between fan and ceiling has greatly reduced any noise or vibration in adjoining bedrooms. Now can only hear fan in operation when in the shower and it is quieter. Really does a good job of removing steam and moisture when using bath/shower and no sign of mould now. Like the idea that fan itself is easily dismountable to clean fan blades, would give this a 5/5 rating.

Stop working after 2 weeks after installation return back and got different brand

The fans are good however I was sent one which did not work correctly as I bought a 2nd from the retailer, they then charged me to return it as it was not working correctly.
