this is a fantastic controller. It allows the control of each zone independent of the others by setting up individual start times for each zone or group of zones. It also has a “soak” feature which sprays for a period then wait for a period to allow the water to soak into the soil. Then the cycle is repeated until the “run time” is reached. I use this on our front berm to minimize runoff. The unit also monitors the weather and waters more or less depending upon recent rain amounts. Plus, it skips watering when the outside temperature reaches freezing. The flexibility of the controller coupled with the ability to control it via the Hunter App from ANYWHERE, make this a great controller. It is also very affordable. I highly recommend this unit for any new or replacement installation. It is easy to install, easy to program and easy on the wallet. If your yard has 20 zones, like mine, this is the one. Otherwise save some coin and get the same controller with fewer zones.

This sprinkler controller was pretty easy to setup. Really no issues connecting the sprinkler wires to the system, or programming the system. It was easy to name the zones, and change the programming times. This is the most control that I have had over watering my landscape since I moved in. I live on 3/4 of an acre with about 17 sprinkler zones. I would purchase this product again.

This is a superior product and hard to go wrong with. I had little understanding of irrigation systems when I installed this for our 22 zone system. Easy to instal, excellent for troubleshooting and love the pic upload feature so I know exactly what zone is what. Bought again for our vacation home.

Received product - installed on wall per instructions. Followed instructions to program zones-Product would not hold program for more than one day. I called a local Hunter distributor to verify I was programming correctly and they stated I was setting it up correctly and that I short return for new unit. I Returned the item - sprinkler warehouse would not provide refund because we drill holes to install to wall. Third party rude and unprofessional- offered to return original unit back to me at my shipping expense. Now working with Amazon to try and get refund.

This is for the 24 station Pro-HC controller. This unit was easy to install. I was dreading the wifi hook up and station set-up, but turns out the set-up was unbelievably easy. Within 20 second it found the WIFI. The initial software set-up was menu driven and super easy. This is definitely the wave of the future. It even ties into the weather report automatically and can add and subtract time by the temperature and humidity! I can control this from my office, phone or home computer. If your looking for a new controller spend the extra few dollars and get this unit. Would highly recommend

I had a Rain Bird ESP-ME3 with the app and it didn't quite fit what I needed for my own system. First thing is that my back yard and front yard have independent water lines. So I needed to install two flow meters for the flow monitoring. The Hunter PRO-HC PHC-2400i 24 Zone has two hookup terminals for sensors. The Rain Bird doesn't. The other thing is the Hunter's Watersense software has so much richer functionality than the Rain Bird app. The weather monitoring is phenomenal. I can sync the app with the wireless weather station in my back yard. Upgraded to the Enthusiast plan for $66 per year and I can sync the app with 4 other wireless weather stations within blocks of my home through Weather Underground. It takes the average readings from the 5 stations for a more accurate weather reading. You can configure around many weather conditions - wind, rainfall, high/low temperature, humidity, and even forecasted rain. There is no need for a separate rain sensor.Follow up 9-20 - The system so far has been working great. The manual to the controller really doesn't give any info on how to effectively use the Hydrawise software. You really have to program the controller through the Hydrawise software to effectively use it. If you use the little touch screen on the controller you will end up frustrated. You can go to the Hunter website to get more info on how to use the software. So it is a bit of a learning curve and it takes time to learn to use the system. I just recently learned about the Virtual Solar Sync option which is really great. It will seasonally adjust my run times using weather data from my wireless weather station in my back yard. You can even fine tune run times for each month of the year if you want to. I am still amazed at the depth of functionality and customization that is possible with this system.

I sort of fell into this controller because it was one of the few wifi-capable controllers large enough to handle my 22-zone system. Very happy with my purchase. So far this controller has been great. Wiring was relatively painless -- hardest part was knocking out the hole for the wiring and stuffing my wires through. Uses screw rather than push contacts, which takes a bit more time but I suppose is more secure. Setup/programming was also relatively easy. Took maybe an hour to assign and name all my zones, then it's been on autopilot ever since. Only change I would make is a larger touch screen -- current one is so small it would be almost impossible to control manually. but that's a nit since operation through the app has been flawless.
