Wallaby 1-Quart Gusset 12 Mil Thick Mylar Bags, Zipper, Labels (50-Pack)

These are my all time favorite smaller mylar bags. I have reordered many many times. They are my go to for this size bag. I would highly recommend them to anyone freeze drying. You will not be disappointed. Sturdy, when opened they stand on their own for easy filling, great size for things that you want a smaller bag of, and the bags have never failed us. They remain doing the job for a very long time. These are the ones. Buy them!

No issues with these. They are pretty thick as far as mylar bags go. Will hold heavy dry products without getting holes in it.

The gusset is great for bag not falling over when filling. Open them and line them up assembly line style, fill with whatever, drop in 02 absorbers (sold separate) then zip bag closed (I did wipe off any dusty foods off the zipper before dropping in 02 absorbers, so no issues with any of the zippers not closing full length). The zipper is great for us clumsies who sometimes whack a bag over, and no worries of the 02 absorber losing its umph before heat sealing the edge. Plus with the zipper the bag can be resealed after opened (unless you heat seal over the zipper HA, but bag can still be re- heat sealed, flat iron works well) Someone mentioned the gusseted bags do not stack well, if not overfilled they can be fairly flattened.

These are great! Heavy duty. Reasonably priced. Leakproof. Great variety of sizes!

Excellent Quality - much thicker than what I used 10 yrs ago. One plus is they stand up while you fill them, so you don't need to put then in a tub or whatever while you fill....I just filled 20 today. THIS THICKNESS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR HEAT SEALING W/ O2 ABSORBERS! The trick to long term sealing is squeezing out all the air you can - then seal it right there. With the O2 absorbers in, and VERY little airspace, the O2 absorbers will draw in the bag. If done right, it should resemble shrink wrap. You should, for example, see the shape of beans against a hard drawn bag. The thickness of 7.5 Mil makes these vey hard to work with. 10 years ago I sealed a couple hundred pounds of beans and rice with thinner bags and a common lady's curling iron. 10 yrs later still sealed tight. For the 7.5 Mil bags, I bought a dedicated sealing press, rated for mylar. I needed to make multiple passes to insure a good melt. IMHO - Opt for a thinner mil bag, you'll get overall better results and less hassle!

These work as designed but be ware that you will need a vacuum sealer that can accommodate Mylar !

I bought these after wasting 25kg bag of flour and a 20 kg of self raising flour. I had frozen it to kill bugs and stored it but after 2years it was off; you could smell it. So after doing some research this was the best way to store flour to Lengthen its shelf life. I also bought the relevant oxygen absorbers and hey Bristo I was in business. The bags are a great size you fit about 2-3 kg in them and they are of a good thickness. Really happy will be very happy.

Haven't used these yet but they seem the perfect size for a two person MRE and are thick, quality bags. Backpacking food never tasted so good until we started making our own and dehydrating and these bags will be perfect for longer storage and maintaining freshness.
