How many pages (regular use, mostly text) will this toner print before needing to purchase new toner? I'm seriously considering buying a laser printer

I've printed 8730 pages with this printer, and I get about 2000 pages per TN660 cartridge. The Printer Report shows quite a bit of useful info, including the last ten errors, which in my case showed the last three "Replace Toner" errors. It also shows print density (5.3% for me) and that Toner Save mode is NOT enabled. Not a single paper jam reported, either!

how can I make the toner last longer?

Brother printers support a feature called Toner Save Mode. The disadvantage is that text and graphics will appear lighter and possibly a bit pixelated, but it will stretch a cartridge a lot further. To set it as default in Windows, click on your Brother printer under Printers & Scanners. Click Manage, then click Printing Preferences. Click the Advanced tab, then check the Toner Save Mode box. OK your settings and you should be good to go.
