Mmmmm-try the lemon bars!
I ordered this cookbook because the Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding was featured on one of the tv morning shows. There were several books but this one was the first one published. Unfortunately, it didn't include the famous banana pudding. No problem- I looked it up online and tucked it inside the front cover. All the recipes look great, especially if you love to bake. I tried the lemon bars yesterday & the crust and lemon topping were thick enough and very lemony (as they should be).

The Magnolia Bakery Cookbook: NYC Sense Memory
I bought this cookbook, because of a red velvet cupcake, purchased at The Magnolia Bakery in Greenwich Village. I devoured the eBook, from cover to cover in several settings. I have was eager to try one of these beautifully written recipes, in hopes of recapturing the sense memory of eating that red velvet cupcake. I finally got up the courage to make one of the recipes, the Coconut Layer Cake for Father's Day. This book offers some fantastic tips in the beginning to set you up for success, when trying on these recipes. I read the recipe several times, and began the process. The end result was a fantastic layer cake, that received rave reviews from the crowd. My parents compared it to the cakes of their childhood. My seven year old nephew, who never finishes a piece of cake, ate his piece from top to bottom. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone, who is up for a baking challenge, with a fantastic end result. I will most likely, purchase the two others in the collection. Really delicious
I bought this book after my sister made a birthday cake using the recipe for Traditional Birthday cake. After one bite I was hooked and demanded the recipe. After making this one a few times, I went ahead and bought the book. I usually make cupcakes, though, and the cake is sweet all on its own -- like a sugar cookie but with a cake texture. We just tried the "Dump Cake" -- an inelegant but super easy desert. My kids made it with minimal supervision (8 years, 6 years, and 4-year-old twins.) We served it warm out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, like a cobbler. Today we're baking cookies!

Must Have for Any Baker
I cannot recommend this cookbook enough! I bake every week, and every cookie recipe I have tried in this cookbook has been a five star home run! I gave this copy as a Christmas present last year. It would also make a wonderful bridal shower gift. If you like to bake, you will LOVE this cookbook! So glad I found it!

Same recipes different book
I went to the magnolia bakery on a trip to NYC and could not help fall in love with it! So when I realized that there were books with recipes from this bakery, I bought all the books, I even preordered one of them. However I now realized that all 3 books are THE SAME maybe 1 or 2 different recipes, even the insert photos are the same!!! Its really dissapointing to know they did this! If you want buy one of them but not the 3 like I did! Now I'm stuck with these books! :( i feel cheated!

Yum yum yum
Has so many easy to make recipes for cakes. I didn't want to miss out on any of the recipes soI bought Recipes from the World-Famous Bakery and Allysa Torey's Home Kitchen as well. Only disappointment is that book has all the recipes from this book and many more. I wish it was stated in the introduction. But I don't regret getting this. This is user friendly with hard cover and wish it has pictures!

No matter how many pounds you expend on this book you will get them all back, and more! They may not be the kind of pounds you want, but as you're standing on the scales seeing another stone clock up, you will, at least, be happy! These recipes are so feel-good! I mean, I never had 'Oatmeal Muffins' before but I feel like I've been eating them all my life, so nostalgic i feel munching into one. The recipes are fairly simple, and they always seem to work. The cakes are invariably FANTASTIC. Try the apple and walnut butterscotch layer cake. gee, that sure is the kind of cake momma used to make. What am I talking aabout? I don't speak like that.... but this book makes me, so good are these cakes.

Realmente el libro , en cuanto a recetas se refiere, está bastante bien, pero para mi gusto, le faltan fotos

Grosse déception
Je suis vraiment déçue de livre. Premièrement j'en ai déjà acheté en anglais mais là les explications sont plus complexes car ce n'est pas du tout en grammes mais en cup's. Deuxièmement cela s'adresse à des personnes assez pro pour certaines recettes, les débutantes passer votre chemin. Troisièmement, il n'y a pas de conseils, j'estime que des recettes en méritent car il y a des techniques à maîtriser. Pour finir ma grosse déception vient du fait que aucune des recettes ne comportes de photos, il n'y en a uniquement que quelques une en milieu d'ouvrage. Il y a certes Internet pour retrouver les photos des gâteaux mais cela est vraiment dommage pour un livre de ce type qu'il n'y ai pas de photos à chaque réalisation. Le tout est au final bâclé...

Some Wonderful Recipes
Hard to believe that a few people were disappointed with this book! I've tried 4 recipes so far (cookies, muffins) and am extremely pleased. So are my friends and family - I make cookies several times a month to keep up with the demand! Although I've baked with reasonable success for about 20 years I don't have a real knack for it. However, by following these recipes carefully I've found that I can consistently produce extremely good results. I'm looking forward to trying some of the cake and pie recipes around Christmas time.
