I shopped around for a powered shovel. I am over 65, not in the best shape, and have had some health issues, so concerned about using a shovel to move snow, especially shoveling and picking it up. I do have gas powered self propelled for the driveway and larger amounts of snow, but use shovel for front door stoop, clean up to shed, to grill, deck and some of the patio areas. Unit arrived, and SO EASY to put together and charge up battery. First snow came (1-3") and was able to use it where i used to use shovel, and it works great and as described, does throw the snow a distance. As others have mentioned, keep the wind direction in mind since it discharges up and away and the wind can take it and blow it on you. Recent late December snows, left piles of drifts, and used it this morning on deck and patio and snow was packed snow, and some drifts from 12-15" high and no problem. Keep in mind it will take alittle longer to get through the drift, but for me, much better and safer than using a shovel. The other areas on the patio and deck, couple inches of snow and works great. Again, for me, faster, easier and safer than using a shovel (just keep an eye on wind direction AND where the snow is getting tossed), and throws the snow a ways away. Battery, I used for 20 minutes or so continuously and still had charge left. Compared to shoveling, I am glad I got it; back saver and less stress on the body then lifting snow for sure.

This shovel works better than I expected. Throws the snow further than I expected. Actually to far for me as my neighbors drive us only a few feet from mine so I have to be careful that I am not throwing onto their driveway. I happen to have a fairly long driveway and these things really are not meant for that. The 1st pic is how much I got done before the battery died. We had about 4” of snow. Had to stop and recharge which was an out 2 hours. So I guess my only complaint is if you have a big driveway as I do you might want to find one with 2 batteries. It was very easy to put together didn’t take much time at all. Thus snow was light and I didnt have any issues with it clogging. It has more power than expected it was even able to go through the snow from the plows at the end of the drive. Sorry for the poor video quality but I was trying to video and clear the snow at the same time. Shows it’s easy enough to do one handed. Only drawback I could find is if you have a lot of cracks in your drive it would be harder to handle. It tends to get stuck on them. This is a great help for someone that is a little older like myself.

This electric snow shovel is an absolute gem. The price is great, assembly was quick and easy, and it feels solid while still being lightweight. It handled 13 inches of snow without a problem. I was able to work in layers by skimming the top of the snow, which made a huge difference, especially with an injured back. I cleared both a deck and a sidewalk with ease, even in deep snow. The noise level is very reasonable; it’s quiet enough that I can use it around 7 a.m. without disturbing my neighbors, which is a big plus. The only issue I’ve had was minor clogging in heavy, wet snow, but that’s understandable and expected with conditions like that. Overall, this shovel outperformed an electric snow blower that cost twice as much. Highly recommend, powerful, practical, and worth every penny.

I’ve only used my unit for a couple of snowfalls so far, and overall, I’m pretty impressed. The foot of heavy snow we got this past weekend was more than it could realistically handle, and I was glad to have my 24" gas snowblower as backup. Even with the gas blower, I struggled a bit—especially with the mound left by the city plow at the end of my driveway. Where this unit really shines is in lighter snowfalls of a few inches, from fluffy to medium density. It makes quick, easy work of clearing those areas. I do wish the battery life were a bit longer, but with the second battery I ordered this weekend, I should be set for my 2.5-car driveway. I like having control over where the snow is directed, though I wish there were more control over how *high* it throws the snow—similar to the handle at the end of a gas blower’s chute. One of my neighbor’s cleared areas is close to where I blow my snow, so I have to be extra mindful not to send snow into his freshly cleaned space. Overall, it’s been a solid performer for what it’s designed to handle.

This is Great ! It went together without a problem, the battery and charger were boxed separately in the container. The instructions were easy-to read . The battery attached easy and locked into place. We had snow today and was still falling a bit so was great time for a try, it was so easy the on button is on the handle and when the trigger is pressed is will run till release it's lightweight yet heavy enough to get the snow flush to the walkway. I love the grip handle it did make it easier to use , im older and I handled this shoveling without back ache, time saved was cut down to 30min to do my walk and driveway and back yard. I say this is a great buy , zero operating issues . Noise level- it was not disruptive the more snow ur going through the louder it was . It thawed out well after ,It was running full power 30mins and have plenty of battery power left when I finished! Great buy

I bought this electric snow shovel to clear a six car driveway and approximately 100 feet of sidewalk (4' Wide). I purchased it last winter, however didn’t really get a chance to use it much last year. this is my first real test of the shovel. Last night we had about an inch and a half of snow with a crusty surface. With a fully charged battery, I was able to clear the entire sidewalk and 85% of my driveway with no significant slowing down of the shovel. From that point, the shovel would stop after clearing about a 4 foot stripe. I would then pull the shovel back squeeze to handle again, and clear another 4 foot stripe before it stopped again. Using this method, I was able to clear the remaining 15% of the driveway. Total run time was about 35 minutes. I had an additional fully charged battery, but I wanted to push this first battery to see how much power I could eek out of it. I’m very satisfied. The shovel could be a bit lighter, but since I use it, mostly by pushing it along the ground, and then dragging it backwards, it wasn’t too much effort to use it. The only thing you have to watch out for is which way the wind is blowing. You do have a bit of directional control from a knob on top of the head of the shovel. So you can direct the vanes of the shovel about 30° to the left or to the right, but keeping an eye on which way the wind is blowing is critical so you don’t wind up having the blown snow drift back onto the area you just cleared! Overall, I think it’s a great shovel and very happy I bought it. It will serve our purpose of clearing light snow, and I have my large snowblower for anything significant. I would buy it again and recommend it to friends.

I ordered this because I usually shovel my sidewalk and two neighbors walks. Since Im geting older I was was hoping to find something easier on the back. I tested the voltask snow shovel out on about 3-4 inches of fresh snow. Here are my thoughts after using it for the first time: Pros: 1. easy to assemble and not overly heavy, but heavier than expected. Comes with everything you need, shovel, battery and charger. I purchased an extra battery for less down time between charges 2. Safety button to prevent accidently turning the blade on when carrying or moving it around. Button is located on both sides of the handle making the shovel ambidextrous. 3. Super easy to operate. If you can operate a weed whacker you can operate this snow shovel. Push the button, squeeze the handle and push it forward. Cons: 1. Works better on paved or smooth surfaces than sidewalk. There are no wheels on this thing, so it uses the vibrations from the motor to kind of slide along the surface you are shoveling. This does not work well on sidewalks because the lip of the shovel catches on every joint in the sidewalk and abruptly stops every few feet. 2. Because there are no wheels you really have to push it with some force. This is equally hard on the back as using a normal shovel. Im 5'10" and the I have to bend down a decent amount to push this. 3. With a freshly charged battery and 3-4 inches of snow, I was able to get about 15 mins of run time. Not enough time to do my walk and my neighbors. But coming in to charge it gives my sore back time to rest. Overall: Its not bad, but not great. If you are looking for something to make clearing your walks a breeze, this is not it. But it is a little easier than using a regular shovel. If I had it to do over I would have purchased a model/brand with wheels. This is heavy enough and catches on uneven surfaces enough that it would probably be difficult for someone who is elderly or has limited mobility to operate. After about 15 minutes my back was sore from the effort used to push it and bending over to lift it up every time it hit an expansion joint in the sidewalk. I would also suggest purchasing another battery you only get about 15 minutes of run time.

Does a great job for lighter snow, and when it was heavier you just have to shave it down from top to bottom, totally recommend. Was incredibly easy to assemble and get going, and the length is not terrible for someone who is tall. I never had any issues with it clogging up with ice though you don't want to use it for big chunks of them. When it's heavier snow you do need to worry about getting it all done in one charge, but if you're doing a casual clearing after a light snow? Should handle it in one battery charge. All in all a good 4/5 from me. Well done.

I've been waiting to write a review until i used it a few times. I have to say I'm very happy. It has some weight to it, and I still can get a pretty good workout using it. I'm not sure it's a great deal less heavy lifting, but its definitely a lot faster. I've used it with heavy snow and light snow, and it worked fabulously. The battery hasn't died on me yet, and I've done a large deck, walkway and the end of the driveway where the snow plow has gone by. My little dog doesn't go down the stairs after a snow, which, if it's still snowing, I don't know where he's done his business. This thing will throw frozen dog poop. Here are the downsides i have found. I got a stone stuck in the blades and it wouldn't work at all. I thought the battery had died, put it on charge, but it was fine. I realized there was a stone, luckily, just when i was about to go searching for some tools to take it apart I was able to free the stone. So definitely not meant for gravel. It can throw snow back at you, especially if it's windy and the snow is light. We had some freezing rain, then snow, and it did throw ice back at me. This doesn't work on stairs very well. Lastly, it will throw the snow at deck railings, and doesn't get right up to the railings, so i do have to do a bit of tidying after, otherwise i get a bit of a bank all around the railings. Overall, i do love this and would definitely recommend it. I'm only nitpicking to help in your decision.

You will not regret buying this thing. Don’t listen to the people saying that these will only work on light snow that would easily be moved with a regular shovel. This thing eats through 30cm of snow like it’s nothing. That’s 15cm fresh and 15cm of week old snow. Haven’t tried it in heavy wet snow yet, but in regular snow that you will be shovelling 90% of the winter, this thing is phenomenal. I even cleared the snow that the plow had piled at the end of my driveway and it didn’t bog down once. I wouldn’t buy this instead of a snowblower for my entire driveway, but for paths, porches. Sure some of these spots I could use a regular shovel to push the snow, but this eliminates the need to lift and throw, saving my back. The power is great, the length is good, the directional vanes are amazing. Bit heavy but if you can shovel snow you can use this thing. Honestly very surprised by the power. I thought it would be okay for light tasks, but it has exceeded expectations. I’m excited for more snow. Battery life is good enough, if you need more then get one with two batteries. I was sick of shovelling after about 20 minutes and it was still going strong with the battery fresh out of the box not even fully charged.

We just had 6 inches of wet heavy snow and this machine was tested to the limit. It worked! But it's also clear it would not take 7 to 8 inches of snow. The battery run at least 40 minutes of stopping and starting and that's pretty impressive. I think the directional vanes were helpful but don't kid yourself it's not as good as a snow blower. How easy was it to maneuver? At 12lbs it was definitely manageable and I would not want it to be even one lb heavier. I guess it means it's perfectly designed. Overall it's plenty quiet and your neighbours will barely hear it from inside their house. You'll find a new version with a brushless motor and tho it's supposed to be more efficient and quieter but I didin't think it was worth $40 more.

I did my homework before settling on this snow shovel. I recently retired (F) and wanted an easier and more effective way to shovel our front patio and steps. Was looking for something not too heavy so I could manage it, battery operated so I did not have to worry about extension cords, battery run time, blades that could be directed manually so I could switch the direction the snow would blow, and strong enough to clear the end of the laneway after the city plow went by. We do have a snow removal service for the driveway, but this really helps make life easier to clear the rest of the paths etc. Very easy to handle, maneuver, and makes the job go super quick! I love it and now my neighbors are looking at buying one as well.

Our home has a 50-foot drive way in a residential street. This snow shovel is excellent! If we have a snowfall of more than a half-foot, I fire up our snowblower. However, this snow shovel easily handles up to 6 inches of snow, and even clears the wall left by the snow plow at the end of the driveway. In fact, I have been able regularly clear our driveway, and our back property around our gazebo and storage/tool shed on a single battery charge. I've noticed that the higher the snow, the further it actually blows! Up to a good 15 - 20 feet or more. While many snow shovels may be powerful, too, they often only blow forward, and since city bylaws prohibit me from blowing snow onto our residential street, I cannot use that type of show shovel. This powerful snow shovel, however, has directional vanes, and I can easily go up and down my driveway, blowing the snow sideways onto my own property off of my driveway. Highly recommend this for any household.
