Depth Typology: C. G. Jung, Isabel Myers, John Beebe and The Guide Map to Becoming Who We Are

Outstanding One-Stop Resource!
This is an outstanding book on the Jung-MB-Beebe lineage of human cognition/consciousness theory! Hunziker writes in a very accessible way and has captured (in one place) the fundamental and distinctive elements of each model, including how each refines or expands on the last. I could never have distilled all the dozens of different written resources in the elegant way Hunziker has. Also, I'm most excited about type dynamics and Beebe's contribution to how type can play out in the irrational/shadow realm. This does a great job of presenting Beebe's work. (A good follow up is Beebe's own Energies and Patterns book.)

Mark Hunziker’s presentation is clear, logical, practical, ...
Mark Hunziker’s presentation is clear, logical, practical, insightful, and astoundingly impactful on a universal, and on a personal level--his writing demonstrates the natural INTJ gifts of introverted intuition and extraverted thinking to organize the flow of truthful insights into a coherent whole. What surprised me and resonated profoundly with me was that the overall tenor of the book was one of deep, critical concern, caring, and compassion for the reader. One cannot help but *feel* inspired. Mark, keep on keeping on, brother.

Very good guide on shadow functions
The author leaves you with a very good knowledge base on how Beebe’s model not only expands the typology to the 8 functions, but explains very well the energy they carry as archetypes.

Very Insightful
Mark easily breaks down difficult concepts and shares deep insights and observations. Depth Typology brings new ideas and concepts to Jung’s theories, deepening our understanding of the human psyche.

This is without a doubt the best book on typology that I have ever read
This is without a doubt the best book on typology that I have ever read. It is a bit spendy, but worth every penny.

Great introduction to and building up to the Beebe archetype model. Explains how it is the most complete extension of Jungian personality theory.

Absolutely Love it!!!
I am giving this book a rating of five stars in spite of me only understanding about eighty percent of it. The material I understand is that good. I wish I could have understood all of the material but I am more than satisfied with understanding eighty percent of the book. I have to warn you the book is addictive - once you start reading it is difficult to stop. The information is so interesting and it is so important for someone on the journey of self discovery.I believe that the book can be of an incredible aid to someone who is on a road of spiritual or personal growth. It also can help to better understand others and to lead to more compassion for others which is really important. I gained a better understanding of others while reading this book which is really helpful.I can see how we all have these differences in temperament, in character and how we all are the same at the same time in our pursuit of personal growth. I have to say this book is one of the best books I have read so far. I am so glad I have found it! I am sure that I will be re reading it at some point in my life. There is so much insight I have gained because of it!

Absolute delight to read and explore this relatively new topic
First of all, the way the chapters are organised makes the reading and comprehending this topic a delightful experience. This book stands out in describing the complex topic of Archetype and unconscious in a simple and unmistakable way. Author has absolute command over the subject and his in-depth study and referring the right point at right sequence makes the job of the reader much simplified. As an interested reader of Jungian typology I would highly recommend this book to get a complete view of modern typology with all the latest works in this field including Dr Beebe's "8 Function-Attitude 8 Archetype" model.

Informative, digestible and a good pointer for further reading
An informative yet still digestible introduction to the psycho dynamic theory and practice underpinning the MBTI and depth psychology, as well as some of the core figures in this theory's development and history. I liked the practical examples and I'm using the references as a library guide for my own further reading.

Excellent primer but lacks the depth I was looking for.
This book provides an excellent outline on Beebe’s Depth Typology but there’s no real depth on how to use it to truly understand oneself or others as the promised guide map to becoming who we are. Maybe that was the plan of the book, but if that’s the case then it could have been written more as a short essay to provide the essence of jungian typology as reworked by Beebe’s creative endeavours.
