How are people installing it without showing the gray plastic?

The plastic base is a part of the old cushion and you must remove it from your headphones, then apply the new cushions.

Will these fit solo hd?

Check the description of the pads and what headphones they fit. Mine was a solo 3. And they fit perfectly even though I installed one upside down!!! 🤣

Are they good at cancelling out noise?

Hi, this is just for comfort. Although it covers your whole ear and thus reduce noise levels somewhat, it is not designed for noice canceling. Noise canceling has to do more with your headphone capabilities than with these replacement cushions.

Easy to install. Did not get the extra adhesive but the first one was much better than the gum on other replacement cushions. The instructions provided were clear. Comfortable to wear for longer periods as it is softer too. Durability will know only long term.
