WHITIN Men's Wide Toe Box Barefoot Shoes W87

As of this writing, I've owned my pair of these shoes for roughly 3 years and 3 months. I've worn them regularly, having basically worn no other shoe than this pair (excepting sandals for hotter days). On top of this, I've routinely used these shoes for parkour training, an activity that notoriously wears through shoes quickly for a variety of reasons (wall runs that wear through the soles, hard impacts that strain the stitching around the sides and toe box, etc.). Given the fact that, while they're near the end of their lifespan at this point, they still don't look to be in too bad of shape. The soles have been thinned from wear through the aforementioned parkour training, and again, they've been my daily shoe for years now, but I feel they could remain good walking shoes for another half-year, which blows me away.They're wonderfully lightweight, multi-functional, aesthetically pleasing enough that I've worn them out to plenty of events and restaurants, and are durable enough in my book to make the very concept of entropy start having doubts about itself. All this for the price they charge? Seriously, these rule, and I'm so happy I came across them.

I haven't had them long enough to factor in durability but I'll drop stars if necessary later. I love the way these fit. Most barefoot shoes don't have much vertical volume in the toebox but these don't make my toes feel constrained in any way. There's also more toe space than most barefoot shoes because they don't have a sloped design like the vivo style. The shape of the toe box doesn't make them feel as clown like as my vivos.The canvas is pretty basic, on the inside the canvas feels a little softer or smoother. The insole is thin and of a nice density. The footbed has a very soft, slightly padded feeling fabric making it better designed for removing the insole than other brands. The The tongue also has a soft fabric with light padding, the whole heel area of the shoe does, and there's a foam pad above the heel counter that helps with comfort and reduce heel slippage. All of those things make it truly comfortable to take the insoles out and wear without socks if you want to.I'll help as best as I can in choosing a size. I wear a US 11.5 and a 44.5 EU and have narrow low volume feet. I have this model in the 11/45 and 12/46. I purchased the 11/45 first. Both technically fit me. There's not much space at the end on the 11/45 but length wise it's still technically fine, the vertical volume difference between the 11 and the 12 is where I really notice the difference. I only like the 11/45 without the insoles.The 12/46 fits like most of my 11.5 shoes, with almost a thumb width at the end and feels great with the insole in and can even accommodate a thicker insole/orthotic without feeling constrained, it still feels fine with no insole too. I was surprised that it fit fine either way. I'll only be buying the 12/46 in the future.

I bought these because this style fits my wide feet better. They are sturdy canvas and well made overall. The only problem I have with them is that they seem to run slightly small. I bought size 11, which is my normal size and the size recommended at purchase, but they are almost too small. If I buy them again I will go up a half size. Otherwise no problems.

I used to exclusively wears Vans but now prefer these and think they are more comfortable. Took a little while to get used to but I like the zero drop and wide toe box and somewhat skate look. Cheap enough to buy multiple pairs for the same price as name brand shoes. I tried on my old ‘favorite’ vans after wearing these and they felt too cramped. Going to buy more WHITINs

So it took me a few days to find my way in these, and I'll admit that once on they're pretty comfortable. But five stars worth? Not quite. For one thing, I can't quite figure out what these are supposed to be? Are they a water slipper, which is quite what they feel like. Or are they a light boat shoe, which is what they sort of look like. Problem is, for half the price you can get an actual pair of Hurley canvas boat shoes at Costco. So think of these as more of a flip-flop with a canvas top because the light sole is about half the thickness of your standard boat shoe. And the canvas itself is rather thin and "buckles" in places as if not glued in properly. Of course, the fact that they arrive shrink-wrapped should give you a clue to their mass-production and quality (be sure to have them sent in Amazon packaging since they're just in a clear bag from the factory). All that said, they're quite passable for wearing from straight your volleyball game to the nightclub. The wide fit makes you feel a bit dorky but these days who cares since it's comfort that you want. And these do wear like flip-flops with about the same amount of support. Once you get used to that, and the European lacing (just redoing the shoe laces will give you more room, if needed), you'll be golden. No real complaints except that you'll feel that you may have paid way too much for these once you see similar Sketchers or Khombus at Costco for half the price. One good note, these wash quite well...

I am a Doctor of Chiropractic, so I'm very particular with how my shoes compliment the biomechanics of the human foot. The only casual shoes that I wear now are Whitin. I can wear these shoes comfortably with or without socks. They look super cool, and they are very affordable. I have found that they hold up well. I bought this model, plus another model. I have had them for at least 6 months and I am very satisfied.What I love about Whitin shoes are the fact that they are built to allow the human foot to simply do what it was designed to do. This is accomplished in these shoes by having no incline in the heel (zero drop) so the posterior chain of your leg (calf and hamstrings) are not flexed and shortened, and by having a wide toe box so that your toes can spread out as far as they need to. A zero drop and a wide toe box allow for the proper motion of the 26 bones within the foot. When the foot moves properly, it absorbs shock. If the foot doesn't move properly, such as when you are wearing bad shoes (please note: 99% of shoes are made with an incline in the heel and a narrow toe box, and are therefore classified as bad in this doctors opinion), shock will not get absorbed by the foot as well and will get absorbed by your knees, hips, and spine, especially the low back. Whitin shoes are also great because they are minimalist and have a thin sole. This allows for greater proprioception between the brain and the feet (proprioception is the brains ability to sense where body parts are in space). In essence, when you buy shoes, you want them to mimic walking barefoot. Whitin allows for your feet to do this. I recommend these shoes to patients on a weekly basis.If you are a human and you have feet, find yourself some high-quality zero drop, wide toe box shoes like Whitins!

I normally wear women's 10 WW and these shoes in an 8 1/2 fit perfectly. I have wide feet and BAD bunions and the day I got them I put them on and walked a mile with nary a problem. I wear Pedag cotton terry insoles and no sox and truly feel that I have found the shoes I've been searching for for all these years. I also put elastic laces in them. Perfection.

Although these are called running shoes, they are ideal for HIIT bodyweight/calisthenics workouts. I’m a big user of the Freeletics workout app, and these are perfect for doing things like burpees and mountain climbers, when having a huge foam heel can be detrimental to your form.They are low key enough that they can be worn outside, unless you deliberately point out the wide toe box, nobody would notice. They provide a great “ground-feel” as well, which makes you feel more stable when walking about

I really like barefoot shoes. I have the Xero shoes and Lem's and these are on par with these two.They're very comfortable. The toe box is really wide. They look good, not like most barefoot shoes.I am surprised how good they are especially with that price. Most barefoot shoes are really expensive and can get up to $200 USD.If you want to try barefoot shoes before committing to something more expensive, give these a try.I would even say if you like more expensive barefoot shoes, then you would still enjoy wearing this pair.

Husband really likes these shoes, and they were a good price. He likes the wide toe box and that they are comfortable.

Pricewise very nice. A good exchange of value. They cut cost by having no box. Just a sealed plastic bag.Insole is terribly squishy to me as I'm used to wearing vivobarefoots. But i think they will flatten out over time. And i could swap it out for a thinner insole. Going insoleless might be tricky as the footbed is a foamy material.And yes i upsized by half as the reviews said this was sized smaller. Usually I'm a 11 to 11.5 so i played it safe by getting a 12.
