Lamomo White LED Neon Strip Light, Flexible 5M

The Lamomo Neon LED Strip Light is the best light I’ve ever had! The warm white glow is perfect, dimmable, and creates a cozy atmosphere. Installation was simple, and the 5m length covers a lot of space. I’m so impressed that I want to buy another one. Highly recommend for anyone looking for high-quality, versatile LED lighting!

I am using the product for garden lighting. It is very well engineered. The LED ‘rope’ encases the LEDs in a thick silicone rubber oval tube, creating a continuous strip of very even and bright light down one side. While the ‘rope’ is waterproof, the power supply (a 13A UK plug type) and controller are not. I have therefore installed these in a waterproof plastic IP65 junction box in the garden, linked to the house lighting circuit via conduit. The box was about £16 on Amazon. You do need to consider how you will get power to the product for an outdoor installation. It’s not a good idea to run out an extension lead, plug in the product and wrap it up in a plastic bag :) You might ask ‘why not have the power supply and controller inside the house and run your own cable to outside, connecting to the rope light?’ You can’t because the power supply, controller and rope light are linked by proprietary connectors and a few cms of cable. The controller is both a Bluetooth transceiver and infrared receiver. Bluetooth provides control via the free smartphone app. Infrared provides control via the supplied keypad. For the latter, the keypad must be able to ‘see’ the controller (which has an infrared sensor on a short length of cable). In my case I could only use the Bluetooth option because the controller is hidden within the box that I installed and wouldn’t be visible to the keypad. Note that the box cannot be metal because it must be transparent to a wireless signal. The app is elegant, intuitive and very comprehensive. Very easy and instant Bluetooth pairing. I can’t comment on reliability because the product has only just been installed. The build quality suggests it will be reliable. Delivery from Amazon was instant of course and the product was well packed. To sum up: for outdoors installation, think through how you will power the product. For inside, it’s plug & play. I suggest the manufacturer creates an option that provides a waterproof power supply and controller with a means of making a sealed connection to a suitable cable (this would be expensive, hence the product is as it is and good value for money).

Used these to provide under cabinet lighting in my daughter's kitchen. There is no plinth, so needed something which was nice looking. These fitted the bill exactly - as one other reviewer mentioned, the number of clips supplied isn't really enough for a 5 metre length, so I bought the 100 pack of additional clips - I'm sure they'll get used in the future. Bit fiddly getting the clips screwed into the cabinets, but at least they won't be falling off, as is often the case with self adhesive lights.

Great light strip, power supply failed after 10 months, but free replacement sorted really quickly. Excellent customer service!

they are a very good buy very long as i have a long L shape desk and they fit nearly perfectly, they flash to music but if thats not your thing then they just light up and they are fully adjustable so dim or bright its your choice , the only thing i thought of bringing up are the little plastic holders they are a little fiddley to on but ounce they are on they don't fall off so thats good would highly recommend.

I wasn’t aware of Neon LED strips until I came across a 3D printed project that showed how to make “Neon” signs using this kind of light strip and a 3D printed framework to hold it. Unlike other LED strips, this is very easy to bend into curves and the silicone covering makes it look a lot like a real neon light. I am sure this will work well for that and I’ve thought of another use - replacing the fluorescent lights of a nice workbench magnifier that I purchased at a garage sale. A piece of this strip should make it much brighter and I won’t have to worry about finding replacement tubes. The switch and power supply, which I didn’t realize was included, should make it an easy job. I’m only going to need a short length of LED strip for that project, but this can be cut to length with scissors. The package includes quite a few silicone caps for covering the cut ends, and also 10 pieces of wire for connecting cut pieces together. That will require some soldering but it shouldn’t be difficult if you know how. Also included are a considerable number of plastic clips that you can use to attach the strip to something, either with screws or 3M tape, which are both included. The strip is very bright and I like the 6000K daylight color for workspaces, although I prefer the warmer white of 4000K for living areas and bedrooms. The seller says the LED strip is waterproof and I’m almost certain that’s true. I’m not so confident that the power supply is, although it might be. I may purchase a longer length of this to put under the edge of our deck, because our old dog is sometimes reluctant to go out in the dark. BTW, I attached this to a lab power supply and it drew 1.6 amps at 12 volts, or 19.2 watts. The included power supply says it’s good for 2 amps.

This is a nice looking very flexible LED strip that looks very bright when looking at it (which is great for using as a neon replacement), but you aren't going to use it as to light up a room to read a book. My original intent was to use it as a bias light behind my 65" TV, but in my testing (wrapping it around the wall mount) the light output proved to be insufficient for that, but I have a darker color wall (and the back of the TV is dark) and the test positioned it far from the edges of the TV. That said, I would not recommend this for a TV of most sizes, as the 2 meter length would not cover the perimeter of a even a 32" TV. I debated deducting a star for this since "TV backlights" is one of the advertised applications, but I feel my application put it at a disadvantage. One unadvertised feature (mentioned at the end of my review) was the reason I did not do so. Although I was unable to get it to show properly in the photos, there is a second thin stripe near the base that lets some light leak through, although in person it is noticeably dimmer than the main translucent area. This second strip can be seen more clearly in the image where I show the front and back of the strip while turned off (where some components are visible through it). This includes a on/off/dimmer switch that can either be used or omitted. A quick tap turns it down and a long press either increases or decreases brightness. The power connectors tested to the same 5.5 x 2.1mm standard used by my security cameras, making it easy to obtain extensions, replacement power adapters, etc. The included power adapter accepts 100-240 volts, 50/60 Hz, and outputs 12 volts at up to 2 amps (24 watts). I noted one item that isn't (currently) mentioned in the listing but is on the packaging itself it that the strip itself if IP65 rated.

HAbe mit dem LED Lichtschlauch eine Indirekte Beleuchtung in unserem Oldtimer Wohnwagen nachgerüstet. Der Schlauch lässt sich super verlegen und macht klasse Licht. DIe Kinder liebern das lauflicht in verschiedenen Farben. Qualitativ macht der LED Schlauch einen hochwertigen EIndruck.
