At first I thought it was too much to pay for a switch and didn't see why it had to be so high quality. After using it for over a month, I understand. It gets pressed a lot by many people who may feel the need to press quite hard. The light is useful as well to draw attention to it even in the dark. This is important because people need to know how to get out so they don't feel trapped. The instructions are a little confusing as far as normally open or normally closed goes, but trial and error got it working right. Update September 12, 2014: The original bulb burned out today. I think I installed this on October 12, 2013, so that's approximately 8,000 hours (the light is on continuously). It lasted 11 months, but I thought it would last almost twice that long because their website says "Replacement bulb (12V, 1.2W, 15,000-hour life)" is included. I've put the replacement bulb in now, and maybe it will last over a year and half like it's rated to do, but why wouldn't the original have been the same quality? I really wish they had used LED which would've lasted many years and used less electricity. I'm not going to dock it a star for this yet, but if it's hard to find a replacement bulb when this one burns out in the next year or so, I'll be reducing this to 4 stars. Update April 21, 2016: The included replacement light did indeed last a year and a half. Now I've purchased an LED replacement light that works well: T3-1/4 6V-28V GREEN L.E.D. MINIATURE BULB WEDGE BASE from bulbtown.com. I didn't find one on Amazon. At first when I put it in, didn't work, but after turning it around, works great.

Works as expected, fist single gang LC ring. Deep back box too.

We have been using this product for 3 months now, and it has performed flawlessly. It gets a lot of use Mon thru Fri because it is on the main entrance to our office. It did take some time as well as trial and error to interpret the directions, and I used a Youtube video as well, but once installed it has been great.

Button gets stuck in when pressed and does not pop back out very frequently. I removed it and went with an alternative.

Don't let the price intimidate you. These buttons are a LIFESAFETY device and are built with quality in mind. Don't believe me push the button. Just imagine installing a cheap push to exit button and come to find out people died due to you wanting to save a few extra bucks on a simple exit button due to a fire and a malfunctioning cheap exit button. Okay, Okay Maybe I'm exagerating but it is possible. Just spend the extra buck - and keep that off your mind. Installation of this product is pretty darn straightforward to anyone with wiring knowledge. You can wire the button to light up or you can leave that out if you choose.

The push button makes a great night light, it lights up the surrounding area. If you don't want that it's not a switch for you. The switch works well with a size that is easy to push with gloves on. The best part is the screw holes line up with the standard US electrical box. The electronics is about 1 inch diameter and maybe 1.5 inches out the back. It has our NC and NO so you have both types.

Easy install, well made, night light works very well. Can't be beat for an RTE. Jason
