We got this for our kids (and lets be honest, the parents too), and it is a HUGE hit! It creates amazing shaved ice. It's light weight enough to take almost anywhere. We're still experimenting with how to keep the ice block from disintegrating while it spins, but I think it's more about our freezer or water than the machine. Once the syrup is added, it creates almost a creamy ice that is amazing. This is NOT a crushed ice machine. You could start a small business with this guy and take it to baseball fields and make a killing. The ice is a huge part of it, but it's the syrup that makes a great snow cone. From the ones we've tried, there's a company called Hawaiian Shaved Ice that sells amazing flavors that taste great. We realized you can dilute the syrup (half syrup half water) and still get amazing snow cones (plus it's less sugar for the littles). All this to say, the machine is awesome. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Good machine for home use, or maybe at a small party. First machine ended up getting damaged in shipping. Amazon did send me a replacement. The machine is made from plastic and weighs almost 40lbs. However for the price, it’s a good value. Safe and Easy to use if you have common sense. It is a bit noisy but nothing crazy. It has an adjustable blade that if on its in the lowest setting will make the fluffiest shave ice! My main issue is making good durable ice block that doesn’t crack apart when being shaved. But that’s another topic.

I purchased this and was very surprised at the quality and how well it works and that it wasn’t extremely expensive. I got it for us to have for birthday parties and my son rodeos so we do the concession stand and it’s a perfect lightweight and quiet machine that I can set up in less than three minutes.

We have just received this item, so we will update if our experience changes. But here is the initail impression: This is a solid built machine that puts out quality shaved ice. We are still trying to figure out the perfect blade setup, but so far it seems like less blade = better shaved ice. The machine can hold a good sized block of ice, I only took one picture with the tape measure, but the largest size of ice would be about 9 1/2" wide x 7" high. Our hardware store was cleared out of small buckets for making the ice blocks, so I purchased a pack of 5-Qt. Leaktite plastic paint pail liners for about $5. I was a little nervous about how thin they are, but they seem to work really well so far. Down the road me may purchase something more sturdy if these don't hold up. Overall we are very happy with the purchase. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional quality shave ice machine.

I really wanted this to work, I am trying to start up my business after planning it for a few years now. I decided to buy this machine after reading a ton of reviews. I wanted something I could afford now to practice and use until I could afford another one. I also wanted to make sure I could follow through with my plan and test out my product etc. Everything looked great and easy to set up. The machine seemed to work amazingly until the ice was ready to be shaved. It will not shave the ice, the blade does not reach it even at the highest setting. I am speaking with the company currently, but Amazon responded back first. They are sending me a replacement, hopefully it will get here by Friday. I will do a side by side comparison before I send this one back, hoping the other one actually works. I am still going to speak with the Great Northern Popcorn Company to see what the problem is and will update you all on that process. I really hope it possibly might be a small fix. Also, I ABSOLUTELY recommend getting a foot pedal as this model does not have a stop switch just an on-off power button on the side of the machine. In all the other reviews the machines have two switches, one to power the machine and one to turn off the ice rotation. I will say I like how this model has the safety feature of the door having to be closed to turn on, but the door seems flimsy, you will have to be very delicate with it. I will update as soon as I get more info and I see if the other machine works properly. It might be user error, not sure how, but I will update asap.

This thing is a BEAST! My kids, the neighborhood, and even parents love this thing! I will say it is a big unit, big enough to start a business! Well worth every penny! Very easy to use and easy to wipe down after use. Be prepared because when you get this shaved ice machine you will be busy making them daily. It is very sturdy and well built. You can adjust the blade to the exact type of ice you are looking for! Trust me, get this machine!

Great performance - can get great variation of shaved ice - from fine to chunky. And it seems ultra durable as well. It's definitely commercial grade! The one downside is that this thing is HUGE - it's probably meant for businesses rather than consumers. If you have limited counterspace or storage space, this is not for you. Last thing I want to mention, it's HUGE. There, I've done my duty for my fellow prospective purchasers.

Love this machine! It makes absolutely fantastic Hawaiian shave ice- perfect consistency, very easy to run. It is a bit of a beast size - wise. My husband compares it to an industrial drill press!
