I couldn't wait to try this nail grinder as my dog had 2 nails that were too long and it was making him uncomfortable. I have battery operated nail grinders that are loud and I usually have to use clippers as a result. My dog would not let me try to clip those long nails and once he heard the sound of the nail grinders, he would try to walk/run away from me. I was very impressed with the "quiet" sound as I immediately turned it on upon taking it out of the box. It came charged so I used it immediately. The sound is very high pitched hum and very light on the decibels regardless of the setting (the higher or lower setting) compared to the loud rumbling sound of my battery-operated ones. I held the grinder up to my dog's nose so he could smell it and then I turned it on and he did not even move at all. I used this on my dog while he was suspended by a hammock harness and it worked wonders. The grinder has 2 speeds you can select from with a switch and I used the higher setting of the 2 due to the long length of his nails as it would be faster (higher rpm) compared with the lower setting and the fact he is a medium-sized dog. It took a little while to grind them to a good size (didn't want to use the nail clipper and stress him out) again, due to the nails being so long but it worked perfectly. The cap with a slit around the wheel where you put the nail can also be removed so you can use it without anything covering the wheel. There is a light on the grinder that you can turn on and off and to my surprise, it was bright enough so I could actually see where the quick was in his nails. This was very convenient so you don't have to use a flashlight. I ended up doing all his nails on all paws (was actually kind of fun for once) and there was no drop off in terms of the grinder slowing down at all. I probably used it for a total of around 15 to 20 minutes and all 3 LEDS were still lit. I went ahead and charged it (comes with a USB charging cable) and only 1 LED was blinking out of the 3 - it is fully charged when all 3 LEDs are not blinking. 1 thing to mention is that there are no extra grinding wheels included, only the one that is already attached to the grinder but it looks like it will last a long time and the listing states that it is a diamond drum bit that lasts up to a year and probably much longer depending on how often you have to use it obviously. I did not see any extra wheels for purchase from this seller but I did a quick search on Amazon and found a 3-pack for $10 that are also diamond bits and have the same size dimensions as the one on this grinder and should fit. Lastly, I got this on sale for $15 and change and feel this is an absolute steal. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has a loud battery-operated one or anyone that is looking to purchase a nail grinder for the first time.

Doesn't scare my pets and works great!

My dog is extremely nervous when anyone touches her paws. I have tried for years to trim her nails at home. I have been taking her to the vet to get them trimmed, but really wanted a good trimmer for home use. This one came with a manual trimmer. We started with that. One nail every few hours or so. I let her sniff both trimmers and ran the automatic one near her giving her treats and praise when she didn't flinch. This trimmer works well and is low noise. My pup will now let me trim her nails! One drawback is that the manual trimmer looks like it was used. It's possible that I received a used one.

I just got it in, only paid $12 and I gotta say both the clippers and grinder are awesome. I used them on my Staffordshire bull terrier and I'm impressed. I worked at a PetsHotel for almost two years and did a whole lot of nail trims and nail grinds and this is honestly better than the ones we had at my old job. The grinder is very quiet, I didn't use the cover but it got them smooth quick and no paw pads were nicked in the process, the light was also very handy and made it really easy to see the quick on my dogs nails. The trimmers I used before grinding and they worked as expected. The grinder also came fully charged so I didn't have to wait for it to charge before use. I have no complaints! Light weight, the perfect size, and easy to use. Highly recommend!

Take Away: -Thicker than it looks in the pictures -Vibrates a lot -Grinds well -Nice isolated button for the light (though doesn't work well on black nailed dogs) -Easy to replace the head and comes with a spare -The manual clippers look high quality -USB C CHARGING means I don't have to dig out my micro-b or an obscure barrel to USB adapter. While this is relatively quiet what it isn't though is "steady" and that poses a problem. My dogs are barkers, so I have a bark collar and it vibrates to let them know to be quiet. SO... this vibrating as much as it does while trimming causes a problem since they've associated that with negative stimuli. THOUGH, with that said, while a little slow to grind, it's very nice, love the replaceable head and that it came with an extra wheel. Have yet to try the clippers, they look very nice and not at all cheap. Another major issue I had with this, was how chunky it was. Looked a lot slimmer and sleeker in the photos. I like it way more than I hate it. Also like the fact that you can use it as an emergency flashlight without having to turn on the grinder. I like that that is its own button. I think most people won't have issues with this, and if you were to purchase one yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent product. This nail grinder is superior to the one I previously had which stopped working and wouldn't hold a charge. It's super easy to hold and operate and quiet. My dog doesn't like getting her nails done but this grinder speeds up the process which is better for my little nervous Chiweenie. I highly recommend this product - great value.

Absolutely wonderful product even though my dog doesn’t really care for it. It does what it’s supposed to do and fairly fast. Would definitely advise purchase if trimming toenails are complicated. This might be a bit easier. My dog doesn’t care for either or but this does work.
