Men's 5" Running Athletic Shorts for Workout Gym Tennis Sports Lightweight Quick Dry with Zipper Pocket

These shorts are absolutely fantastic for the activities I primarily engage in: 1) hiking/backpacking, 2) climbing/bouldering, 3) work outs, and 4) weekends around the house. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find shorts that don't hang about my knees like man capris, yet aren't 1970 NBA short. Despite the 5" rating on these, they aren't as short as what you might be expecting. I'm 5'10 and they hit just above my knees. They're made of a synthetic fabric that isn't at all uncomfortable, is lightweight, and dries fast. I like the liner because I can go commando, swimming, etc. The liner is a non-issue when I wear boxer briefs. It's nice on a backpacking trip or hike to be able to jump into a creek or lake for a dip and have them dry quickly. They have a drawstring in the elastic waistband which I don't usually need to tie, but if I go swimming I do. The three pockets are fantastic. The front pockets are great because they are deep enough for a phone, wallet, keys, etc. On a lot of shorts in this price range you get pockets that aren't deep enough to hold a pea, much less something valuable. The zippered pocket on the back is really nice when you want to be extra sure to secure something and is also big enough for a phone or slim wallet. If these shorts have a weakness at this price point, I'm not sure what it is. I've experienced no issues with fit, quality, or durability. They're comfortable. I now own three pairs and wish I had more.

These fit pretty much as expected. I have had problems in the past with this not being the case, but these were good. If anything they are maybe very slightly on the smaller size so if you are debating between two sizes you might want to opt for the larger size - but this is only slightly so. The material feels great from a wearing standpoint, and feels great from a touch/quality standpoint as well. The pockets are nice sized. If there is any criticism I would say it is with the liner - I don't think it is particularly supportive. For me these shorts are perfectly fine with nothing underneath during normal wear (which is how I will normally use these), but for actual running you are probably going to want to wear a jock/compression shorts or something more supportive, especially if... well.... you know. Overall the look, feel, and quality all seem very high quality. I would also add that these are maybe just slightly longer than I expected. I had debated between 5" and 7" inseams, and opted for the 5". I have some 5" inseam running shorts already and they are fine but I wouldn't want them any shorter (which is why I was considering the 7" inseam to start with), so the fact that these are just ever so slightly longer than I expected was actually a plus for me.

One of my favorite workout shorts. Great material and doesn't feel restricting at all even with the integrated briefs. They fit great, just wish they were a tad bit shorter. Thin and breathable material for those hot runs and workouts.

Hi everybody. I am a 70 year old female (I'm not Steve. I'm married to Steve.) I play tennis three times a week, I’m big boned, not huge but 20 pounds overweight. I cannot fit into the cutsey women’s XL size they sell at Dicks. Academy, etc. I have given up trying to ever shop in there. Shame on them for never carrying any women’s 2X. I play most tennis with married men so would never wear the teensy skirt that flashes your AQQ every time you bend over to pick up a ball. (Girls, don’t be naïve. It’s not okay.) Thus I am forced to hunt for Men’s XL shorts, ones that don’t look too masculine. I’m very picky and it’s really hard to find what I need. Enter Baleaf. I just bought two pairs. Do they have the light dreamy fabric that wicks away moisture? Check! The perfect length? (for me, 5”) Check! Deep pockets to hold my tennis balls? Check! Nice, comfy elastic waistband? Check! Check! $18 instead of $45+. for the same or better quality than the big boys. Finally, they fit great. They wash great. But wait! There’s more! I am blown away with their quality of the product, I courage you to buy this brand once, much better than nike, Adidas and Lululemon brands. I am professional runner and I just happened to buy one of their running shorts 3 years ago on amazon incidentally. I am still wearing those shorts on everyday running. threads quality and elastic is very very good and its feather light product. some other product on amazon around 20-30 dollars as well but don't be fooled by their quality and how heavy they are and once you sweat while running, heavier shorts gets even heavier and drop and t-shirts don't dry off as fast as this brand. I am not getting paid by any of them to write this kind of reviews. I am online shopper and I never leave any reviews to anyone, unless something really hits me heard. sizes are true to your size and washing and line dry is only necessary....Hats off to their designer ;-)

I'll leave my original review below and edit it as follows: Within a month or so, the threads securing the elastic in the waist band began coming apart. Within another couple of months the seam of the right-side pocket began to split open. So: These are still comfortable shorts to wear for exercise, but you should lower your expectations when it comes to their quality and durability. Maybe you don't mind having your clothes unravel and start to fall apart within a few months, but for me it affects my buying decisions. It's unfortunate that this manufacturer relies on people's lowered standards or knows that most of the issues with quality will arise after the free return period. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: I bought these shorts primarily for running and also for riding my bike and exercising. They're perfect for all of those activities. With one minor exception, there is a lot to like about them. PROS: - Excellent fit: I'm 5'8", 145 lb, 30 inch waist, and I ordered a men's Small. I couldn't ask for a better fit. - Comfortable, supportive liner: The inner liner fits me perfectly, front and back. - Lightweight, quick-drying fabric: The shorts don't cling to your legs if you perspire during a run, and they dry out quickly after washing. - Side pockets have good depth: I can drive my car or ride my bike and not have to worry that anything in the side pockets is going to fall out. - Excellent elastic in the waistband: The waistband securely keeps the shorts up without needing to tie the drawstring, and yet it doesn't feel like you'll have an imprint on your waist when you take them off. (I have a pair of "name brand" running shorts that are nowhere near as comfortable as these shorts, and a lot of that has to do with how restrictive the waistband is.) - Good looking shorts: I really like the length of these shorts. The hem comes several inches above my knee. - Solid construction: I've worn these shorts quite a few times and they've been through the laundry without any sign of loosening of the elastic or fraying of the fabric. They're really well put together. CONS Only one con, and it's what keeps me from giving these shorts a 5-star rating: The back pocket. I wouldn't let it matter, but they sort of make a big deal about it in the product description, as if it's something very useful. Other than maybe carrying a little bit of cash (not in a wallet) in the zippered pocket, I can't imagine what you can put in there that isn't going to be noticeable and annoying as you run or exercise. The bottom of the pocket sits about 2 inches below the top of my butt crack. If I put my house keys in there they flop around and bang against me, and there's no way I could sit down with them in the pocket. My cell phone is 5.75 inches long, and it doesn't fit into the pocket, although I can't imagine trying to walk around with it - let alone run - if it did fit in there. If they made a pair of shorts that has all of the other great features of these shorts without the relatively useless back pocket, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. (Maybe they do and I just haven't found them on Amazon.) Bottom line: I'm very happy I bought these shorts, and I'll probably order another pair just to have different color options. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these shorts to a friend, but I'd warn them not to expect the zippered pocket to have much use.

Fit well, probably a bit longer than my other 5 inch shorts but fine. Good quality and worth the price paid.

Finally some shorts with just the right length (the 5 inches version). When standing up, it ends 10cm above my knee. Perfect for sports and casual wear. The fabric is very thin but not fragile. It is lightweight, soft (almost silky) and feels great. At first the elastic felt too tight around the waist, but after a couple hours it was fine and has remained the same since. Great shorts for the price. I love them!
