Has been nothing but perfect for usage as a pfsense box. Might run a little hot, but it uses little power and in it's compact form, is simply amazing! Have owned for over a year now and it's still going strong.

I bought this system because I suspected my other NUC form-factor pfsense router was misbehaving due to having non-intel (realtek) GbE adapters.I'm happy I got it, it seems ethernet reliability really got a bump by using the intel NICs.pfsense installed with zero hassle. I copied my pfsense configuration to this device immediately after install. It spent quite a bit of time fetching the software I'd installed on the prior router, but everything came up the way it was. It went straight into production and has been running very reliably for the last 24 hours.One warning. Although there is an internal SATA port and a power jumper for it, there is no way to mount or even fit a SATA SSD. There is also no power cable supplied which would work with a SATA disk. You WILL NEED to install an mSATAProsINTEL NICs! These have eliminated stalls which were occurring on the realtek NICs on the other device.Hardware is very compatible with pfsense, no warnings during boot.Celeron M3160, has AES-NI instructions for accelerated cryptoConsRuns at about 50C, 10 degrees hotter than other device.No realistic way of installing a regular SATA disk, must use mSATAWifi adapter installed is not supported by pfSense, but very few are.Update 20170501:Very happy! this continues to run without a hitch, 49 days of uptime, zero issues.I really see the performance improvement on VPN because this is using the 3160 with AES-NI instructions.The older routers do not have AES-NI, which might be ok for your application, but fast crypto is sooo nice.

Like the other reviewer, I bought this to replace a dual nic Nuc that used realtek nics for my pfsense router. The install was easy and after renaming the interfaces from my config backup to match the interface names of this device I had a working router.The one semi-confusing part of the install is they recommend placing this small L shaped bracket with thermal pads on each side between the wireless and msata card. The instruction came on a badly printed copy paper so it wasn't really clear what orientation the bracket should be. A little trial and error and I settled on what i think made sense

Would not output any HDMI signal. Requests for customer service from Jetway went completely unanswered.

Really great for a pfSense box. Has dual Intel NICs which are picked up without issue in the newest version of pfSense (2.3.2-release-p1 at time of writing). I can't speak to the wireless card being recognized as I removed it since it has no place on a firewall. I have a 75/75Mbps connection and with Suricata (like Snort IDS/IPS) running I have not seen the CPU go above 38% even at full load. Memory utilization is about 13% on 8GB of RAM.I'm only giving this 3 stars because Jetway chose to put loctite on all twelve (12) of the screws to the case. You should be able to just remove the bottom 4 screws but even with a proper screwdriver set I could not get a bit to properly bite and ended up having to damage the case to finally get it off to be able to install the RAM and mSATA drive. Had I known how bad it was ahead of time I could have attempted to use a torch to melt the loctite on the bottom screws since the motherboard is mounted in the top portion of the box (the part with the cutouts and would be facing up).If it weren't for the loctite this could have easily been a 5 star product as it's perfect for what should be it's intended use as a small network device.

I use this as a pfSense firewall. It's nice and shall, compact, runs cool.I have one minor gripe: the blue LED turns on when power is applied, whether the PC is actually on or not. You have to plug it in, observe the blue LED, and then press the power button. Once I set the BIOS to always power on after a power loss i stopped caring, but the power LED doesn't indicate that it is actually powered on -- just that it could be. This is very unusual for a computer.

I purchased this to use as a PFSense router/firewall. The Intel NICs and AES-IN processor were exactly what I was looking for. I installed 4GB of ram, and a 32GB MSATA drive. The unit will run my OpenVPN connection over my 100mb/sec connection without any slowdown at all. This is a great little unit, and has been very stable for a week now. I would have given 5 stars if documentation would have been better. It was acceptable, but i had to figure out the order of the NICs and which HDMI port was the default for setup. Other than that - I'd purchase another without hesitation.

I've been using this as a firewall box running OpenBSD 6.3, pf, and dnsmasq for the past few months without problem. Using the memory and mSATA drive recommended in the "buy together" panel the install with the standard amd64 OpenBSD install image. The network adapters are supported by the em driver; I don't think they take full advantage of the adapters' support for TCP offloading but since CPU utilization never breaks low single digits that's not a problem.The case does get hot to the touch, since it's serving as a heatsink. The CPU temperature reported by sysctl is a not terrible 46 C; I wouldn't put this outside or in an enclosed space without some additional cooling but I'm not worried it will overheat in normal indoor use.As others have pointed out the power light is very bright so if you're using this as a HTPC or media player you'll want to stick some tape over the light. I can't speak for the graphics performance since I haven't used it other than hooking up a console monitor, but that worked fine.
