It has no business being this good for $72?!
First ever review. Absolutely fantastic! For the price, hell forget the price! I have been having so much fun playing this. Micro bass, 2 octave guitar length scale, sounds great, did I mention fun? Considering price paid, set up is decent, still adjusting details, but better than passable out of the box. Looks - Red looks awesome, matte finish, sweet. Build - Solid, no issues, and it has some hefty to it, in a good way, for the size. Sound - Played thru a 300 watt bi amped Carvin 2-10, 1-15 stack, boom! Overall - Just love playing this thing, makes me smile every time. Nice to sit in front of the TV and noodle/practice. Definitely worth the price paid, $59.99, $19.99 shipping, 10% coupon? Done and done. Accessories - Cheap, cheap bag, cheap strap, shockingly good cord? Short, 10'? braided jacket, what?

Quite good for the price
From past experience I normally wouldnโt pick up something from Glarry (which mine came logoโd as) as their work can be a bit slipshod. But for the price this little bass exceeded expectations. I needed a small bass to keep near my bed since Iโm recovering from surgery, and I was surprised what a little brick this thing is: the body is very solid. The pickups sound fine (if a little noisy, but thatโs just a single coil thing). The tuners seem more than adequate, and that can be a problem with inexpensive instruments. Overall, this is a perfectly playable bass to enjoy and learn on. Players will benefit considerably if you can do some setup work. I needed to file off the rough fret ends, lower the nut, and loosen the truss rod quite a bit to get the action where it should be. But once done, this thing plays extremely well for the price!

It's so frickin' awesome!
I will start this review by saying I am not a bass player. I am a guitarist of 33 years, and a drummer for even longer. I have a small studio and have owned several bass guitars through the years. I play good enough to confidently play my own bass tracks in the studio. With that said, I am in the process of recovering an album and needed some bass. I had chosen a nice 5 string that was significantly more expensive than this one. However, I ran across this guy about a year ago and for some reason I just couldn't get it out of my mind. Last second, I decided to trust my gut and purchased this Ktaxon short scale bass and man, I'm so glad I did! This thing is so awesome! It is tiny! I play Fender strat style guitars so the 25.5 inch scale length sounded great to me, but when I opened the box there were no words! It is so small! Upon initial inspection, it looks good. It does have some flaws, but it was only $59. Flaws are to be expected. There are no sharp frets. The back of the neck is kinda rough, but a lite sanding took care of that. The jack plate doesn't quite fit the curve of the body. I removed it and bent slightly to fit the body better. The red finish is flawless. It is a matte finish with no pore fill so you can feel the grain. It says the body is mahogany, but the grain looks just like ash to me. Who knows? It was not in tune so I tuned it up. The tuners feel a little loose. I may replace them. The action is somewhat high. The intonation isn't even close, and the neck has a little too much relief. I then let it acclimate overnight. The neck straightened out close to perfect. A little tweak on the truss rod and it is good. I adjusted the saddles and set the intonation. All of this took roughly 15 minutes. I have to say, it is one of the best playing bass guitars I've had the pleasure of playing. The strings are super heavy so the bass tunes to standard tuning. No string flop whatsoever! The pickups sound like bass single coils. 2 volume and 1 tone. It has a lot of versatility. I threw a strap on it and it is perfectly balanced. No neck dive. I don't own a bass amp. I record direct with amp simulators. I plugged it into my guitar amp just for the fun of it. A Vox AC20 clone. Kicked the fuzz and the phaser pedals on and just cracked up laughing at how awesome this little bass is! My studio is a tiny space so the scale of this bass is perfect. I figured I could save money on a case as well. Instead of a bass case, I could throw it in a normal guitar case. I put it in my Gator Deluxe Tweed case and it just swallows it. Too big! I will have to figure out a case for it. The bag, strap, and cable that came with it are garbage. The only thing I don't like about it is it has the Glarry logo on the head which is not in the pics. Ugly logo poorly screen printed in white. I will remove that and then it will be perfect. I highly recommend this bass! I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with a new piece of gear!

So great. Just crazy for the price.
Bought this for my six year old son who was interested in my bass a bit. It looks amazing, and the quality is crazy for the price. So fun to play. Playable out of the box. It is not a split single coil (precision style) pickup, by the way. It's two single cool jazz bass style pickups. This is obvious from the photos. Controls are volume, tone, and sweep. Electronics are noisy if you are using both pickups, but it sounds best just dialed down to the bridge pickup anyway.

Bass guitar
Expected a little bit better of a musical item but I guess for 100 bucks you canโt expect a whole lot frets kind of bite into your fingers on the end and the finish on the body couldโve been a little bit better. I wonโt return it but Iโm gonna have to make some modifications to it. I had a nice bass before, but I sold it and was looking to play another one and wanted something reasonably cheap but expected a little better than what I got. Just beware if youโre buying something. Maybe spend a little bit more money and get something a little better thank you.

2nd Glarry didnt disappoint.
This is actually a review for Glarry as this is a Glarry bass. This is the second Glarry brand string instrument iv got and i am at a bit of a lose for words. AMAZING for $80.00 as with most of these, the bridge is a bit cheap, but totally functional. the finish is a bit weak, but its $80.00... you can not expect it to have a Ferrari paint job. the added gear is garbage and id rather them sell for $5 less if they didnt include the strap and picks. the things that matter for playing music are all there, and are executed properly. Neck is perfect. nut is perfect. frets are perfect. all the other hardware is totally replaceable if you want but i wont be with this bass. as with the GTL i got, i would have zero issue if you are a player getting this to mod, record, gift to a child, or a band mate for a good, fun, FUNCTIONAL time. probably wouldnt gig it since its shorter than a meter stick. one extra: the edges of the body are routed with a softer smoother finish than is pictured. less square, more sleek.

Small but big sound, ktaxon bass guitar
I got the yellow color of this bass guitar and it looks nice and sounds good, tone is great clear without noise. Personally I bought this guitar, coz I need lighter one for travel and to record my own composition as a hobby while on board the ship, coz I'm a seaman right now. Then I made a record out of this bass to complete the track of my song and the mixing result was excellent, the quality sound is like no difference to a standard size bass guitar. And I'm very happy with the result, now I'm enjoying listening my recorded song composition after finished recording coverted to Mp3 file. This cheaper price is a money saver with quality tone, lighter weight easy to carry, short scale but 24 fret full scale which I most like, and a very comfotable, much easier than stanbard bass guitar to dribble your finger along the fret board, coz its like the size length of an electric guitar, I would recommend this to buy!

Sized for kids, but not a toy.
I bought this bass for a school in the Philippines, and it is a perfect size for the students, and after setup it plays and sounds great. Note the "after setup" part. The intonation was so bad out of the box that I thought the frets were misplaced, and considered returning it as defective. It needed a TOTAL setup, as it wasn't even close, and was totally unplayable out of the box. Truss rod, saddle height and intonation all required major adjustment. Also the nut was a bit high, but I don't have slot files, and it turned out it was close enough. After setup it plays and sounds great, and the kids are having a good time learning to play bass.

Great sound in a little package
The positive - very nice sound, fretboard smooth, no fret issues, smooth and playable neck. Feels like a guitar. The negative - finish was done very quickly. Pictures are much nicer than what I received. Red paint is opaque (not transparent like pictures), dull finish, even paint drip in the front. Will most likely require setup both at bridge and truss rod. Was easy to setup. Overall, for the price this is amazing value. If you are hesitating, go ahead, you will not be disappointed if you consider the price.

Sounds amazing for a small bass
I've adjusted the action and the intonation which was off. It is very easy to play with it's half size length. The bass is the size of a guitar very short scale 25'' . I was not expecting as much, but it looks really great and I like that it has 2 pickups with independent volume knobs. It is well built for the price

Ideal for beginners
It took a while to arrive but it was worth. Nice bass, well built. I chose to adjust it with a professional "luthier" to avoid damage the instrument and it sound great overall.

Great bass
The bass itself is very nice and has a great colour. The sound is also enjoyable, and is a really good bass for the price.

Gotta love the kid sized bass guitar
We love the little bass guitar! It's a child sized version of a Warwick bass. Perfect for an up and becoming little rocker and bass is easy to learn, thicker strings, easy string replacement and less often than nylon or guitar strings. We appreciate your updates and tracking messages. Thank you.
