Very easy to use!
Reviewing "Woodstock W1226A Mini-Planer Pal, Pair" - I used this to install and align new blades in a 30 year old Sears 12 1/2"" planer. Worked perfectly. The magnets have plenty of strength to easily hold the new blades in position while the gimbal screws are tightened. My sears planer is model 351.233731. The cutterhead assembly is about 2" in diameter and only holds two 12" long blades. Removing the dust collector gave me access (5 minutes). I was able to remove both blades, clean pith from the cutterhead with carburator cleaner and using this tool to hold the new blades in position I tightened the gimbals screws. The entire job was completed in about 30 minutes. There was a tool that came with the planer to do the same job, but only one tool. So you'd have to move it back and forth left to right over and over to make the same adjustment. The Pair of magnetic tools gets the job done in minutes. Very pleased with how easy it made the job.

Worked well on my 12.5” Grizzley
I found this very simple to use. Quick, accurate and smooth. 1) Loosened the blade retainers so blade could slide free, 2)set jig on cutter-slightly slid away from the plastic stop on the jig, 3)slowly slid it in place against the plastic stop (as you slid jig up and down, you can see blade slide in and out...it works well) 4) gently snugged blade retainer, a little at a time, working back and forth on the set screws, removed jig, and mine has (2) screws down inside to adjust height without gauge, I just backed them out, so they are snug to blade.....this new jig does the work, so they aren’t used to adjust blades.

Great tool
Smart, easy to use. Takes out gueswork from setting jointer blades. Magnets are surprisingly strong and work extremely well.

Fantastic product!!
I recently dusted off my 12 inch Delta planer as I am setting up my work shop again. I toyed with the idea of buying a new planer since I lost the gauge tool to set the blades. And because the machine needed a little TLC from years of storage. I saw this product and gave it a shot. I cleaned up and serviced the planer while I waited for the part to be shipped. The day it arrived I immediately used it and set the blades on the planer. What a difference!!!! The planer works like a champ and I feel like I have a brand new planer. Thank you for this awesome product. P.S. If you go on the Sears Parts website for tool parts, the replacement blade setting tool for the Delta planer costs over 30 bucks....and it's not as good as this one.

Great tool, needs shim for Delta TP300
This little tool makes blade alignment so much easier *BUT* I had to make a small modification to make it work with my Delta TP300 planer. I couldn't find a spec on the TP300 cutter diameter but apparently it's a little narrower than this tool is designed for and thus it leaves the blades extended too far out. Rather than return it I decided to just try adding a shim to the magnets that holds the cutter blade in place - which in turn would keep the blade recessed more. I happened to have an old blade-style automotive fuse in my junk drawer and found that the thickness of the fuse blades were probably close to what I needed so I just cut them off and epoxied them to the alignment magnet. With this small mod my cutter blade was exactly where I wanted it. This was a pretty easy fix considering this tool isn't designed for my planer. Money well spent IMO.

Perfect on Delta 22-540 planer
I received these today and immediately went change the knocked and worn baldes on my 20 year old Delta 22-540 12" wide planer. They worked perfectly and the blades are true. It cuts better than new. A couple of pointers : 1) Make sure the blade setting springs are in place and are loose. 2) Insert the blade into the clean slot and make sure it moves freely. Use a small stick to press down on one end of the blade against the spring force. 3) Properly orient the setting fixture with the plastic stop resting against the edge of the groove per the instruction diagram. 4) release the blade holding stick 5) repeat on other end of blade. 6) Tighten all nuts, then remove fixtures and tighten remaining nits.

Sets knives easily and correctly on my Delta 22-540
I fiddled around for years eyeballing the knives on my Delta 22-540, and while I could get things in the right ballpark, I was never happy. I then fiddled around trying to make my own gauge, but then I came to my senses and spent the $24 on these little dealies. Whenever I do this kind of thing, I always feel stupid afterward. Why is it that I can go out to eat and spend 30 bucks on a meal without thinking a thing about it but won't buy myself the right tools??! Sometimes I'm a cheap bastard in all the worst ways. Should have bought these things years ago. The only thing is that you have to make absolutely sure that the little nibs (the little plastic protuberances) are not resting on the cutter head itself, but rather in the slot, right behind the knives. That ensures that the magnets in the middle holding the knives are in the correct position relative to the knives. There's a diagram on the back of the package that's very straightforward. If you don't do this, it'll set the knives very high, and the cutter head will engage the wood before the roll feeders will, and if that happens, you'll know it instantly..! You'll see others claiming that these don't work for the Delta 22-540, but they do. I'm assuming those folks didn't notice that the little nibs were on the cutter head itself and not in the slot. Other than that, they're very easy to use.

Great tool for the price, BUT It Doesn't work on Delta 12 inch planer
Couldn't find the alignment tool for my Old 12 inch Delta Surface Planer. The price on this tool sold me. It worked great when I changed the blades. Purchased in 2016, didn't work with my planer. Attempted again 2021 after unloading wood from on top of planer which I gave up on at the time. Got exact replacement tool and my planer now works 5 years later ,LOL! No snipe!

livraison très longue (deux mois)et deuxième mauvaise surprise : le facteur me demande 11euros de taxe à l'importation. Très chère pour deux morceaux de plastique. Sinon, conforme à la description.

I was gifted an old King planer but it didn't have the set up jig for replacing the blades. Could get one for $140. Ordered this instead. With a little care to get it aligned correctly the magnet just snapped up my blade to the correct height. I tighten it in place and it works perfectly. The place I get my blades sharpened wanted to see it because it works so slick. I expect they may be selling it soon.

Worked as hoped to align knives on older Delta 12" planer that had developed the "have to push wood through" problem. Original adjustment guide was lost & discontinued. Would be 5 star, but in this case, the small magnets BARELY match knife position, so extra care was needed. With some patience, they worked & planer now works like a charm again.

I use these for my 6” jointer and they are truly your pal when setting jointer blades..as I’m sure they are for planers as well. As was described, arrived quickly.
