Everybody loves these, but they are harder to carve than you might think. Some of the figures require that the egg shape be shaved lower on the top which is end grain and slow going. Some of the figures require add-ons, like ears or horns. But the results are great.

Simple and colorful carving subjects. Patterns well illustrated. Our carving club did one project and then I passed it on to another carver. Use with bass wood eggs.

Loving this book - projects are adorable! The author uses various preshaped eggs, etc., and I have ordered some. However, I think it may be easier to get symmetry starting with a block. I've already carved a couple of puppies - so cute!

Know to implement any of these projects you need to purchase special egg shaped blanks.

This how to book is well written. I have had problems finding a source for the egg blanks. It could be just the time of year.

Great for giving simple ways of woodcarving

Es un libro para la talla de madera de balsa de personajes. Todos los personajes se pueden realizar con "huevos" de madera de balsa. Son todos redonditos y fáciles de realizar. Tiene los patrones y hay 46 proyectos de personajes para poder hacer distribuidos en temáticas: navidad, cuentos,halloween, animales de granja,cuentos. Lo recomiendo con 5 estrellas porque viene muy bien ilustrado con muchas fotos a color para ver los personajes cómo quedan pintados y con todos los patrones. El envío me ha llegado unos 20 dias tarde pero ha sido por las fechas de Navidad, el vendedor ha sido muy correcto cuando le consulté por el estado de mi envío y él lo envió rápidamente pero se demoró el correo ordinario.

As long as you can find a source for the egg shaped carving blanks needed for these projects, you can carve many delightful and fun projects such as those shown on the cover. A wide variety of themes are given, so I'm sure you'll find plenty to work on. Instructions are clear too.

Bought for my father in law who does not read english but it is so clear with images that he was able to do the projects without any problem. Great for beginners
