Bao Bao Learns Chinese Vol. 3, Bilingual Chinese Sound Book for Toddlers

These Bao Bao sound books for children are wonderful. The songs are sweet, engaging, and easy for kids to follow, and I really love that they include traditional Chinese nursery rhymes. It’s a fun and natural way for children to hear and learn Chinese while enjoying music. The sound quality is good and the buttons are easy for little hands to use. A lovely educational toy that introduces language and culture at the same time. Highly recommended!

I have all three of the Bao Bao Learns Chinese series. What I especially love is that this book features the Happy Birthday song. It is one of the first songs many babies learn. They seem to be drawn to its simplicity and repetition. If you are just starting out on Chinese, I would recommend acquiring this book first since the melody will be so familiar. We have a robust collection of musical type books such as the Ditty Bird and Cali series. I will speak to what makes the Bao Bao series our all time favorite. Repetition of songs Almost all the musical books truncate songs so you only get the first refrain. This series repeats the refrain twice. I think this adds to better language acquisition. We have the Cali Spanish book and my one complaint is that its songs are extremely short. Quality Design Musical books are on the upper end of the cost spectrum so buying books that don't last is frustrating. We bought our first Bao Bao book two years ago. It is still going strong. We have not had to change the batteries or had any misfires with songs not working. This has been a BIG problem with the Ditty Bird series. Some books are great, but others have stopped working within months. We have a steady supply of batteries--changing them doesn't solve the problem. Clear Read Along Lyrics in Chinese and English As a non native speaker of Chinese, I appreciate having both pinyin English and Chinese to read along with my child. Again, I think seeing the characters reinforces long term learning even if your child is too young at this age to read characters. If I had one nitpicky criticism, it is that the Swallow Tail song is hard to read because it is black print against a rather darkish blue background. We are thrilled to have the Bao Bao series as part of our book collection.

Both my kids love to listen to the songs in this book and it helped immensely with keeping them chill during diaper changes in their early months. My older child used it so much and therefore we dropped it so much it’s started having some issues so we’ve ordered a second copy so we’ll have a working one for our younger kid.

My girls and I love all songs in this book! Pei Pei Zhou (creator and singer) has a beautiful and soothing voice, and this makes such a difference in our enjoyment of her song books. The songs are great for both my baby (who’s under 1) and toddler who is almost 3, as they love listening to music and singing at their age. My kids love the Bao Bao Learns Chinese song books and have been listening to them since they were born. These books are most often played at home during play time and in the car (also great at helping my baby fall asleep around nap time!) and are very durable. You can also adjust the volume to two levels, which I appreciate as well. Highly recommend getting this new volume and the other two books!

My kids love these books. We started with the red one, then bought the other two. The music is simple and beautiful. I don't mind listening to it as my kids play it over and over. I love the combination of chinese and familiar songs. Our oldest book has last 5 years so far and is still going strong.

My kids are half Chinese and half Americans. They understand Chinese but won’t speak much at home. This nursery songs are the songs I grow up with and help my kids with the rhythm of the Chinese language. Im very happy to see them playing with the books from time to time and sing with it.

I first bought book 1 and 2 when my daughter was about 6 months. And she just loved them, she learned how to press the songs herself. She even dances to them! I bought book 3 and it took me a little time to open it. When I did, it was not functioning properly. I reached out the company and the owner replied instantly. She sent out a new book 3 immediately (with the sweetest note). I absolutely love these books and so does my now year old! I love this is exposing her to mandarin without using videos or YouTube. I highly recommend these books and company!

My toddler loves that book so we left it but there is one song which text sounds very communistic. We just totally skip it even though the kid doesn’t understand.

I was a big fan of the first book that I felt had more common songs but this was great as well. Definitely a must get when the price is right as I've found that the price for these books fluctuate.

My one year old grandson loves his 2 Bao Bao musical books red and yellow so much. I also bought him the blue book for Xmas gift. He Plays the songs whole day long and dance with it.

My 32 year old infant child absolutely loves this book. It’s the only thing we allow him to have in the basement so he doesn’t have many options but he makes his fun sounds when the songs play so we know he’s having a good time :)
