Exactly what is this inside "opaque lining" that two of the reviews have addressed? one said that after just one use, it was corroded.

So I don't know. I am trying to find out myself. The reviews have been glowing otherwise. However every other similar stainless coffee maker that I have read the reviews for have lots of people talking about rust and coatings. I was so hoping this one would be different.

The person who answered "Italy" to your question was the China factory trying to fool you... why are they ashamed of their own products? Cheaply made, for one.

What is the best way to clean it?

I bought this coffee maker because it is induction ready. I have always cleaned my espresso maker with plain soap and water or use the dishwasher. Honestly, I only do this once a week, otherwise I just rinse and dry. I find coffee taste better this way as opposed to washing after each use.

I just got this yesterday. The water reservoir has a coating on it. I think this is what people are asking about, as I am wondering too. It’s not from use. Perhaps it is the sandblasted finish someone referred to but it feels more rubbery.
