Bought this two years ago, works great. But today I needed to download the app, no longer available in the Apple store. Tried to email support, it refuses to submit claiming my email is not valid (my email ends in dot net). My app on the iPhone frozen after the 14.1 update last night. So I’m stuck with a pretty expensive drone I cannot use Review: Missing features in android app. No longer supported. - Best to avoid this one. It's not bad....when it works. The app for it is though. If you look up youtube review of the vitus, they mention features like subject tracking, where you can draw a box around a person or object and it will follow it. Features like that, turns out, are not available on android devices, only apple products. Most people use android. I dont even know anyone who has an iPhone lol. The walkera site says that the android app is in beta and will be updated.......its been almost a year and still nothing. The collision avoidance sensors dont work very well. Only if they are at an exact 90 degree angle to a large object. Doesnt work for tree branches. The gyroscope or the bottom sensor got confused somehow when I was landing in a parking lot. As soon as I touched down one side of the propellers went into overdrive, flipped the drone over and ground the propellers against the asphalt so I had to buy more. That leads to another downside, you cant instantly cut the motors if something goes wrong like that. Like most drones you bull both sticks down and out to start and stop. Takes 1.5 to 2 seconds, which can be way too long if the propellers are hitting, getting caught or grinding against something. The app has a hard time connecting to the camera too so dont rely on your screen for navigation. Also if you're out of cell range and dont have a data signal, forget about being able to see a gps map for the point to point flight or anything else. Offline maps are downloaded through the app not through google maps, and it only gives you a list of places, which are all in Chinese. I tried using another phone with a camera translation app and looks like most, if not all, the available maps are only on china. No option for USA, states or other countries. Like I said it's been almost a year since I got this drone and did the update on the drone itself and downloaded the app. Never once after that was an update for either released. It's probably been much longer since they did release updates. I think work on the app and drone firmware has been abandoned. I've seen comments on desertcart reviews saying that customer support numbers have been disconnected and emails bouncing back as well as the support website shut down. Cant confirm this mlm myself since I haven't tried. I got the vitus, new on ebay for $400. I believe it originally runs between $1,000 and $2,000 so I cant complain too much. Just kind of wish I went with the dji mavic air instead even if it was over $1,000 at the time. One thing good about the vitus though is if you dont care about using the app much, the gps hold is good on this. You just need to take the time to calibrate all the sensors properly, which might take some time and a few tries to get it just right. Can be a bit stubborn since you have to calibrate with the app. But if you're a line of sight flyer and want a good stable hover, it works great. You just want to get up high and let the gps lock first. It can take about 5 minutes to get 9 satellites locked which is the minimum. Until it does it will drift but after it locks it will jerk to a stop and stay there. The camera can be controlled with the controller, without the app and has different beeps coming from the drone to indicate start/stop recording and photo taken. Without the app though it can be difficult to tell if the drone received the signal from the controller for the camera if it's really far away and you cant hear the drone beep. In the end I would suggest going for something else if you want a higher quality drone. The new dji mavic 2 looks promising
