Next storyline of XIII quest for who he is.
With volume 5, the XX conspiracy was more or less wrapped up, and ended the first XIII storyline.BUT.We don't know who Number I is. Only II knew that, and he killed himself. And XIII doesn't know who he really is. Is he Jason Fly, or is that yet another false identity? And the Mongoose, I's assassin is still out there. This album continues the storyline with a second of a 2-part story, so I recommend you get volume 6 at the same time and read them together. Here, we focus on who XIII is. He is still trying to find out who he is, by finding out more about Jason Fly. He travels to a small town in the Rockies (not clear were, but seems to be in Colorado). It seems his father lived there until he died, and Jason was put in an orphanage. But there is more to what happened, and Jason's appears bring this all to a head. You'll find out all about it in this album. In addition, the Mongoose is after XIII. It's not clear who he is working for. After this storyline is done, the next album will take the overall story further.

a violent episode
There is plenty of violence in this episode of the XIII series, particularly against XIII's female companion Jones. This series is a highly complex version of the Jason Bourne story.... only far more dramatic. If I were XIII I would have thrown myself of a cliff by now as just as he is getting to know something about his past the whole situation collapses into chaos. One character, the Mongoose, who has been with us from the start appears to get his final comeuppance in this story. What a shame, he was a really evil chap and I liked him. He will be missed.
