Definitely worth buying.

I purchased a set of three Gigaset phones and are all dead 15 months later! Not worth a dime! Get an AT&T, Vtech or any other brand name but not Gigaset.

I had to return it, because I live in the Philippines and here we are using a different frequency. It's a pity, because I have used Gigaset Phones from Germany since 20+ years now without any problems. The only DECT phones are available here is Panasonic (Philippines). Compared to Gigaset, there sound is horrible!

I wanted to love this phone - I had a Gigaset back in the late 1990s and they were great. But these units -- while looking nice from afar, are flimsy, hard to use, limited features, with mediocre sound. Back to Panasonic - which aren't as pretty, but are way better. Sigh.

The phone system works well enough, sound is clear. You are unable to turn off the ring tone or silence the phone. You MUST choose one of their very annoying audible sound options, and and even the lowest volume setting is loud. The units drain the batteries very quickly as the are NOT rechargeable, but simply batteries. Using the speaker phone option results in sing the loudest volume setting, despite your desired volume level. Phone screen bright and easy to read w various display options. Not bad for the price, but if you're a business or heavy phone user, these may not be suitable for you.

A great improvement on the big standard Panasonic phone systems. You can set up separate preferences for each handset and the base unit. Extremely easy to install. The on line manual is much more detailed and better than the hard copy included with the phones though.
