Works for what it's meant to do
This is really the only way you can install a toilet seat in an installed Toto Carlyle toilet without reoving the toilet. Yes, crazy design but you won't experience that issue until about 25 years after the toilet installation and who stays on one place that long? Well, some people do and some people buy places that installed a Toto that long ago. The "fix" works and I don't understand the complaints other than you really have to work hard to push the bolt receptor into the hole (it isn't easy). Once you do, the rest is a snap and I have not had the toilet seat wobble at all.

A bit pricy but works great
We have a garden variety TOTO toilet (not the skirted version) and the seat has been moving side to side ever since we had it installed. The seat broke and had to be replaced and instead of using the bolts that come with the new seat I ordered these and I am very glad I bought them. They were pretty easy to install (a bit hard to get the rubber bushing into the holes for these old hands, but I managed) and the seat no longer shifts when it moves, I think they are a bit pricy, but they work - it would certainly be great if they shipped these with the toilet seats instead of the nylon ones.

Itโs Toto
Its Toto. It just works. Unlike American brands that have yet to figure out how to securely attach toilet seats to their toilets. But keep trying with constantly changing designs.

Expensive but Work Great
When you replace a seat on Toto toilets you need these replacement bolts. Unlike many American makes where the bolts are reusable, the Toto's, unless you get very lucky, are not...you put them in once and if you have to undo them, you have to replace them. It's too bad and at $5 bucks a bolt $10 for the pair, this is sort of ridiculous...but if you have a Toto toilet, it's what you have to do. Once you get over the cost, you'll find these replacements work extremely well and once tightened you won't have to worry about that new seat moving about at all. They are expensive bolts and not easy to install...though easier to put in than take out...still, these are quality items that work well...and if you need them...grit your teeth and put your money down. They ship quickly and work very well and that will take some of the sting out of the purchase.

These Things Are Marvelous
Tired of your toilet seat migrating horizontally? These fasteners solve that problem simply and quickly. They are obviously designed for Toto products, but they would work for any seat that uses a through-the-top bolt to mate the toilet seat to the bowl. The hard rubber works like a wall anchor bolt (us old guys know them as "Mollies") to fill the void in the porcelain where the original bolt would pass. The compressed hard rubber plug has zero lateral movement when tight, unlike the nylon bolt assembly on your old seat that you could never get tight enough to where it couldn't work itself loose in a few months. The best part is that installation is 100% from the top, so you don't have to muck with that underside area where the hardware traditionally needed to be cinched ...with your face in the bowl.

Exact fit but avoid using a power screwdriver
Iโm pretty sure I destroyed the original anchors by using a high-speed bit driver to unscrew them. This is why I had to order these. To be on the safe side, I used a regular screwdriver and slowly tighten EACH anchor 3-4 turns at a time - until they were tight (but not crazy tight). Tip: I used a large needle nose pliers to grab onto the top of the old anchors, then did a counter-clockwise pull upwards to get them out.

Don't try this for a Kohler One-Piece Toilet unless you have a half-inch ceramic drill and a hacksaw!
There is a definite problem using these Toto parts to replace the metal expansion nut used on the Kohler one-piece toilet seats. Yes, as one person said, the Toto rubber body dia. of 1/2" is is too big for the 3/8" hole in the Kohler toilets, so you had better buy the Kohler part and figure out how to install it. However, because I had the Toto part purchased based on reviewer comments that said it would work (grrrr!), I found a way: The hole in the toilet was enlarged to 1/2" using a carbide ceramic drill, and then the Toto part was shortened by 7/8"-- the bolt was cut off and one of the two rubber balls was cut out. Now the part fits in the hole and is not too long. And, it seems to have worked-- it tightened up OK. I don't know if there is a 3/8" short version of the Toto part. In any case I really hate the Kohler part -- aluminum is no place for a part that sees disinfectants and cleaners like Clorox. But one of the two Kohler nuts still works so I left it, and now my hybrid toilet seat has one Kohler nut and one Toto. The other Toto parts, and the extras I bought, remain until the Kohler aluminum part fails. I cannot go back to a Kohler part now, having made the hole permanently larger!

Genius Solution to loose, off-center toilet seats! Worth every penny!
We purchased Water Ridge one-piece toilets from Costco. They are a good product at a great price but the seats on 2 of the 3 were driving me crazy. Constantly lose and off center, we were constantly tightening the bolts. Very annoying. This product--what genius! They only took about 5 minutes to install and we haven't had to make any adjustments since then! Snug and tight, like a toilet seat should be! I don't generally get excited about plumbing hardware but this item is just such a stroke of genius! (Yes genius! And I'll say it again!)

Good Product
The item arrived promptly and well packed. I bought them on spec for a Pfister Kamato toilet .... and they fit! I'm sure they would be great for the Toto toilets they were designed for, too! The rubber piece is 63 mm. long; the top cylindrical part of the plug is 10 mm. long and 17 mm. in diameter. Each un-expanded ball is 18 mm. in diameter and 13 mm. long. There is 23 mm. between the ball centres. The stainless screw is 66 mm. long. Recommended.
