This mix is perfect for my African violets. I tried to mix up my own mix for a plant I dropped and needed to repot, and the poor plant hated it. Reported again after replacing the soil with this mix and the plant is on its way back to the beauty it was. Great mix!

African violet lovers will love this soil. Great quality and really great value for three nice sized bags. Some stores sell just one bag for the price of 3. The soil is dry, not a terrible amount of dust but be mindful of a dust cloud if you pour too fast. Soil looks good, my plants are thriving. Easy to pour out and use, bag isn’t too large. Price at other stores, you won’t find a better deal.

Potting mixes made specially for African violets are hard to find in most of the garden centers near to me. Hence, Amazon was my only option left. Needless to say, Amazon never disappoints me. I use Miracle gro potting mixes for all my indoor plants so I really trust this brand. ✓ This product arrived on time and in good condition. ✓ Has 4qt of loose, porous potting mix for African violets. I found this to be a good bargain since repotme.com provides only half of the quantity for the same price! ✓ I cannot comment on the quality yet since I've just finished potting my plants in this mix. I will update their progress in a couple of months. ✓ But what I observed during repotting my plants is: the soil is really porous. Water did flow through the pot pretty easily. This is very important for the root health of African violets, since they really like to breathe! ✓ I really wish that the product was resealable. I have used only a very small quantity now and I'm finding it hard to store the rest of it without the contents spilling over. Update - 07/11/2019 ✓ In approximately 40 days for repotting my African Violet in this potting mix, the first bud came out! (The only other time that my plant flowered was when I had initially bought it from the nursery). This is a huge success for me. Right now, there are a lot other buds coming out. ✓ Also, the African violet babies that I'd planted in this potting mix had a 100% success rate ( PS. I did let the leaves root in water for a month before planting them in soil mix. This method usually has a good success rate). The young plants are growing really well. I've attached pictures of the successful plants. UPDATE 01/26/2021 ✓ I used this mix for my Calathea ornata, epiphyllum cacti, succulent arrangements and also as a seed starting mix. Success, success, success everywhere! I think the porous composition of this mixture does wonders! My first bag is about to get over now. It lasted for almost a year and a half. I have no doubts that I'll be purchasing this again!

Local hardware stores and big box stores alike don't seem to be carrying this product anymore, but it's the only soil I use for my African violets and other succulents. Easy to order several bags to stock up, will order again next time I need it rather than going to the store.

Just as advertised

My African Violets took right away when I transplanted them using this soil. Came with a bitch much for what I needed it for, but I guess I'll have it on hand for any future transplants of similar exotic plants.

The bag was open and taped but its ok , i be using it to repot my indoor flowering plants 🪴
