Madison Reed 6NCG Sardinia Medium Golden Red hair color is amazing! All my redheads (or want to be redheads) know how truly difficult it is to get a perfect copper red color. One that isn’t too bright, too orange, or too dull. This one is amazing!!! Even after I wash it several times the color holds up. It does lighten up some but is still a beautiful copper red. I wash my hair every 5 days and use a shampoo and condition made for color treated hair. I used to pay upwards of $150 at a salon for color that wasn’t ever the shade or shine I get from this box DIY color. I highly recommend you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Tip: for stubborn gray leave color on for 45 minutes!

I used to dye my hair with box color called “red penny” 20 years ago. Obviously it’s not in production anymore, but I was trying to find something close to it. I haven’t dyed my hair in years (which was back in the “pre-zero ammonia” era.) The color result shown on Sardinia Red is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I followed the directions and let it process for a total of 45 min. I was sorely disappointed at first when I finished and saw the end result. I assumed I’d have the dramatic result shown on the box. It seems the ammonia-free formula while somewhat effective in opening the hair follicle is still not as good as its predecessor containing ammonia in penetrating the follicle with color. That being said the claims for lesser damage with the ammonia-free formula are also true. I noticed a SLIGHT difference in the smoothness of my hair but not much immediately after coloring. The color definitely has depth and looks gorgeous in the sunlight, although I don’t see much difference with indoor lighting. I started with medium brown natural hair. The pictures are before coloring, after coloring indoors, and after coloring in the sunlight. They didn’t upload in order so the 1st pic is after coloring indoors, the second is before, and the last is in sunlight after coloring. I also need to mention that it seems the first inch or so at my roots is much lighter than the lengths & that the color does not appear even despite not having previously dyed my hair. Love the color, looks good on my hair very easy to apply as All Colors. fades a little earlier than you’d like it too especially for the expensive price you have to pay for it. i’ve been using it now for many years probably wouldn’t change.aaa

Omg. So if you’re like me and have absolutely no time for a salon visit, and prefer to save the money this kit is amazing. It’s like a salon experience in a box. Pros: -I hate color on my skin after my hair is dyed, in salon or out. This kit comes with a very effective pre and post color treatment to keep your skin dye free. -the gloves are a lot higher quality then you usually get and are actually comfortable to use. -the shampoo and confectioners have a minty, earthy smell. Very reminiscent of the high end spas. It is relaxing and I love that I don’t have that newly dyed hair smell and feel good at the same time. Cons: -the shampoo and conditioner are nothing reusable tubes like many diy dye kits. So it’s a one time thing, even if they give extra. Overall I really enjoyed this kit and will be using it again.
