Exactly what I needed, as a hobby scope this ticks all the boxes I need. I've not tried the USB or recording functions. On-Screen cursors allow you to take measurements, the unit will provide frequency, Pk-Pk, Min, Max automatically. The Math function allows you to plot X vs Y and substract/multiply etc. Math enables it to act as spectrum Analyser usign FFT mode. All in all, very satisfied.

The first impressions are these. You can move the knobs from side to side slightly which makes it feel cheap. The black letters on the grey buttons are very difficult to read. One of the knobs is labelled POSITION correctly and its mate is labelled POSIYION. You are aware of the fan which is not overpowering, but most computers have virtually silent fans these days. The two pin power cord is not much to use to UK customers. Not a great first impression. On starting up, the screen said Error: Fgpa does not math the app!! (yes it did say math). Start to feel there will be the hassle of trying to get a refund. E-mailed the company but got no response, admittedly it was New Year. In the meantime, long Googling found a reference on how to get into the Linux boot menu which I did. One of the options restored it to the default settings and now the scope got past the error message. Now I could play about with it and it seems fine. I did connect a PC to it and used the terminal program on the PC which echoes the scope screen which is nice if you want to do a screen capture for example (.bmp file). But be careful, it can lock the scope functions when the USB cable is connected and you get a red key symbol and nothing works. I thought again it would have to go back until I realised it was the USB connection that was causing this. There has been one system crash so far in many hours of use, but it is a computer after all. It would be nice to compare this instrument with a 200MHz Tektronix for example but most of us don’t have that luxury. For what it is it seems quite reasonable. It’s early days yet. Hopefully over time I will grow to love it. The attached screen shot is the two SPI signals from an MCU. PS After about a month I received a cryptic message from the company telling me it was a hardware fault and to return it to the factory. Thank goodness I didn’t. In the meantime I have used it a lot without any problems and think it was a good buy despite the issues.
