Very pleased with this light fixture. Installation wasn't too difficult however you will need another person to help hold the fixture while making the wire connections.I was a little surprised at the weight of the counterweight, it's pretty heavy. The mounting plate seemed a little light weight, but I followed the instructions and used the supplied plastic anchors to help secure the mounting plate to the ceiling along with the screws going into the junction box.I was concerned that the mounting plate may not hold the fixture however once I secured it, it seemed to hold fine. I contemplated drilling a couple of extra holes in the plate and inserting more anchors in the ceiling but I didn't.I purchased led dimmable 60W Edison style bulbs at Walmart and they look great! The bulbs provide a nice warm light for dining and are bright enough to light up the area around the dining table. The fixture is connected to a dimmer switch.Adjusting the height of the fixture is very easy and if you need to make sure it's level you can just adjust how the counterweight is sitting on the cables.Very happy with how good the fixture looks with our table and love that it can be raised or lowered!

Before purchase, I was trying to find out if I could mount this on a sloped ceiling. Information was inconsistent, so I went ahead and ordered it, then I contacted the manufacturer to ask. They replied quickly and said it couldn't be installed on a sloped ceiling, so I figured I'd have to send it back. But, when it arrived, I inspected it and decided it could be, with a little work. Turns out it was very little work, and I have it installed and it looks really great. The light is suspended by the cords through the weight and pulleys. There is a set screw in the ceiling plate where the cord goes thru, so I loosened it and pulled extra cord through on the 'low' ceiling side. I then mounted it, and put a magnetic level on the light bar itself, loosened the setscrew, and slowly pulled back down some of the extra cord until I got it level. Took 20 minutes max to install and level it on the sloped ceiling. Installed the recommended dimmer and some LED Edison's and am very pleased with it. If you like the look, take the plunge, you won't regret it.

Hi, Can you remove the cord, cut it smaller and re install? I've noticed some screws at the bottom of each cord. It would be really helpful if this is possible? It hangs too low... Otherwise it's a beautiful piece. ThanksFYI - I'm not referring to the up and down movement one gets from installing it properly. I need to make the cord smaller by half! thanks!

Love the fixture, the look and interest. A few comments that may help others:* I did install this on a 22.5 degree slope but to do so I cut a 22.5 degree spacer from 2x4 with properly spaced holes and put this between the mounting plate and ceiling, in effect leveling the fixture.* My ceiling is about 14 feet tall at the mounting point, the length of cable suppled with the fixture left the light about 23” higher than it should be and this was with the counter weight all the way to the top. I ordered 2 lengths of 16’ round fabric covered cable and rewired the entire fixture to get it to the correct height and have the weight at a pleasing position. The final result is shown in the photos. The extra cable cost us an additional $55 thus the real cost of the light went up.* As for ease of installation, use extreme caution as you will likely be on a ladder and the counter weight is heavy and you will be managing the weight plus the ladder plus connecting the wiring and the mounting nuts. It can be challenging. Proceed with caution.* Truly an attention getter and we installed a single lamp in the same style in the adjacent breakfast nook. You may be able to see this in the photos as well.

The media could not be loaded. This was a two person job. The ball weighs as much as my dachshund and on a normal day I don’t want to hold him above my head.Aside from that, it was overall easy to install and took about 30 minutes. It is slightly adjustable with height. We love the look of it and it compliments our dining room light really nicely.The pic and video is front when it was first installed. Since then (about a month ago) the ropes have evened out and are straightened now.

Very nice looking light, you will definitely need 3 arms or a friend to help you hang it but, I had absolutely no problem doing it. Other reviews say that you need additional ceiling (wall) anchors to support it but, it comes with additional anchors in the box so, I am not sure what they were talking about. Other than you need to use more than just the light fixture screws to hold it. The counter weight is surprisingly heavy and that's why you need help holding it up while connecting the wires. Great light fixture and sure to be the subject of many conversations. I rarely actually love anything I buy from amazon but, this fixture is cool and I do love it (in my own way ;-), at least as much a you can possible love a ceiling light
