The core let’s go of the foam.The description says it can be used with most oil based varnishes and paints however I do not recommend these for use for this use. The adhesives released the foam from the core in short order while varnishing my wooden boat. I have no had problems with foam rollers purchased from other sellers on Amazon that are bundled with trays and handles. Those rollers are squared off on one end only. I never had this problem using the other brands with oil based urathane boat paint or spar varnish.I may try to use these with water based paints.

Works....for about 3 min....then they will fall off the plastic fitting. Looks like they put one dab of glue on the end and hoped for the best. Most other brands glue the whole plastic peg. Ended up dropping more rollers on the ground then using. Don't buy!!!!

The foam on these rollers is low density, with large cavities. That mixes air with the paint a lot. Leaves a lot of large bubbles which don't dry as smooth as with high foam density rollers. Orange peel finish more pronounced. Oh well, must be cheap for a reason...
