Love it so much!
It's practically perfect. You just need to screw on the buffing wheels (included: one fully stitched which gives it a firmer edge, and one that's looser for buffing), switch it on and you're good to go.Amazingly, it's not even that loud! You can't choose your RPMs, but it goes at a fair lick, and polishes our metal up an absolute treat. It's sort of therapeutic, too, just sitting there watching the shine come back to stuff. Put on some music, or an audiobook and go to town on the grime.I should say, quickly: both wheels lose long strands of fabric/thread, but the unstitched loses more than the other - makes sense, because the strands are only bound at the centre of the wheel as opposed to being stitched together in concentric circles. All of which to say, I really recommend wearing a mask, and possibly even a pair of goggles for eye protection. The only other problem is that getting replacement wheels is a faff - the spindle on this machine is narrower than most bench polishers - the bore (hole in the middle that fits onto the spindle) is 12.7mm, and they're usually 15mm or 16mm (I'm probably speaking the choir here, and chances are the person reading this knows way more about tools and DIY than I do, but this is for any fellow newbies who don't quite know where to start.)They're about £12 - £13 each, too, but this is such a tiny issue: the wheels will last for ages, even with the fabric tufts coming loose.Ooh, and one other brilliant thing: if you're polishing/buffing something small, you needn't worry about hurting your fingers - as the wheels are whirring round, they'll barely kiss your fingertips, even if they're in full contact. I was nervous at first and now I quite happily shove my hand into it.Proper brill.

Clarke Buffer/ Polisher
Used for brass polishing. Does the job “brilliantly”. Though it tends to run hot.

Great little buffer
Recently purchased as I'm trying my hand at upcycling. Tried a drill attachment before but just ended up damaging the drill so decided to invest in a proper tool for the job. This feels like a great kit for a beginner- and comes with a pair of buffing wheels to get you started [does not include any polish product, so remember to order some too]. So far it has produced very good results and looks like it might last me a good while. Note- one of the nuts is Left Hand thread and the other is Right Hand- so don't get frustrated, just turn it the other way!
