Great writers
I have read most of their books about great Christians. The only problem is that after getting use to their so enjoyable writting style, it is hard to read books by someone else.

Addiction Alert: My children won't put these books down!
This series of books is captivating! I enjoy them every bit as much as my children do. Even my nearly 14-year old son cannot put them down! We own about 4 of them now - but my children have requested the entire series. Little-by-little, hopefully we can do that for them! The books are exciting, moving, and are great faith-builders. The missionaries featured become heroes in the eyes of my children. I cannot recommend this series high enough. Hope you'll give it a try!

Another great biography from the series. Clarence Jones was truly a game changer for radio broadcasting around the world. The biography is very well written and keeps the whole family listening. Nice little facts in the story show how small the world is through these new technologies.

Wonderful book
I enjoyed the book very much, and I love his passion for HCBC. I have never heard of interpreting scripture like he did, though. Still wonderful!

Another great biography in the series
Clarence Jones: Mr. Radio, written by Janet and Geoff Benge, is the biography of a man who became well-known in the world of Christian broadcasting. Although he was born into a Christian family, he didn't accept Christ into his life until he was 18 years old, when he played the trombone at Chicago's Moody Church. That's when he felt the call to be a missionary. He attended and graduated from Moody Bible Institute to "learn how to be a missionary". He didn't have a specific direction, only a burning desire to serve in the mission field. While waiting to see where the Lord would lead him, he started working with Paul Rader, the former pastor of Moody Church. Rader had started a new church called Chicago Gospel Tabernacle and Clarence joined him to once again play his trombone in the church's band.A short time after that, Paul Rader asked Clarence and three of his friends (who played as a quartet) if they would like to play their instruments on the air as part of the new brand-new radio station WHT. Clarence loved playing his music live on the radio. His enthusiasm for the new medium earned him the title of program director for the station. But, even though he worked hard at the station, and he did a great job, he felt called to do more. He said God called him to "go south with radio."This edict from God was eventually translated into a new radio venture in Ecuador, a country radio engineers said would not be conducive to broadcasting a radio signal. However, after much searching and praying, Clarence Jones and his team were able to set up the initially tiny radio station Radio HCJB along with the World Radio Missionary Fellowship. It was broadcast in both English and Spanish and eventually expanded into many more languages and was sent around the world. People around the globe are still benefiting from his many years of hard work and dedication to spreading the Gospel by radio. What I Like: As I've said before, I enjoy reading biographies, especially ones that are well-written, like this one is.What I Dislike: Nothing.Overall Rating: Excellent.Christine M. AKA Mr. Radio
Living in Chicago where his parents were involved with the Salvation Army, money was short & Clarence was not the least bit interested in Christianity. Naturally musically talented, he found himself in the Salvation Army band and later invited to playalto horn in the Moody Church band. It was here that Clarence became a Christian & received the calling to the mission field although at that time he had no idea where he would go.Read this inspiring story of how Clarence became involved in the radio ministry and eventually ended up in Ecuador. The obstacles were many and the "experts" told him that where he was sure God wanted him to build a tower would not work! Guess who was right?!HCJB radio is still going strong today. Read this incredible story to see how God used one man's obedience to literally change the world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Clarence Jones - 1900 to 1986
