Cheaper than a filling & totally worth the investment after 9 months of use
My dental hygienist recommended this toothbrush about nine months ago. When I mentioned how expensive it was, she said, “It’s still cheaper than getting a filling.” That changed how I looked at the price, so I went for it. The guided brushing app takes the guesswork out of whether I’m actually brushing everywhere. I used it twice a day in the beginning, which really helped me build better brushing habits. Nine months later, I don’t use the app every time anymore, but I still check in here and there to make sure I’m staying on track. The pressure sensor is also super helpful! My dentist mentioned that many people damage their gums and teeth by brushing too hard, and this makes it very obvious when you’re using too much pressure. I’ve had two dental cleanings since switching, and both were probably the quickest I’ve ever had. My dentist and hygienist said everything looked great with very little cleaning needed and mentioned they commonly see this with patients using an Oral-B iO. The brush heads indicate when they need replacing, which for me has been roughly every three months. They’re about $10 per replacement head, so that’s another ~$40 a year to factor into the cost. Not cheap, but reasonable enough for me considering how well the toothbrush has performed. My only complaint is that it’s can be a bit messy. Even after rinsing the head and shaking off excess water, some water/toothpaste tends to run down the handle once it’s on the charger, so I clean the charging base a couple times a week. It’s definitely an investment, but after nine months of daily use and two great dental checkups, I’m very happy I bought it.

Recommended for Traveling and At Home
I've had this now for nearly a year and it's been working well. The built in 2 minute timer with vibrations are great for knowing when to move on from the sections of the mouth. Wish the brush heads would last a little longer but they clean fairly well. Many different settings that you can choose to brush teeth from super sensitive to daily clean or gum care. I do keep my brush on the wireless charger all the time but I've been able to take it on trips without it running out of power, and I bring the travel case just incase but never had to use it. I would recommend this to get your brushing habits fixed if you have a hard time of sticking to the brushing schedule.

Buy this!
I'm new to electric toothbrush & it took me a minute to get use to this but once I did, I am very, very happy with it! At first it seemed like it wasn't brushing my teeth with much of the toothpaste (it kept slinging it everywhere in my mouth) but to fix that I manually brush the toothpaste on my teeth (just enough to cover my teeth with it) then turn on the brush. That is the freshest my mouth & teeth feel. It's as if I'm coming out of the dentist every time (& that is a great feeling!). My teeth are WAY cleaner & even stains are nearly gone (I drink a lot of dark drinks). It'll stop/vibrate every 30 seconds to let you know to switch to another side of the mouth. I also love how it tells me if I'm pressing the brush to lightly or to hard on my teeth (the colors will tell you, green is good). The spin is powerful & toothpaste will be slinging out. I always turn it off before I take it out of my mouth because it slings so much. I love the multiple settings you can choose but I always choose the sensitive option. It's not as strong as the daily clean option (daily clean was irritating my gums). The charge lasts a good while. I still use manual brush sometimes & I don't use the Bluetooth stuff so my charge lasts longer. I bought this in December & only had to charge it once. So if you use it more than I do you might need to charge it 2 or 3 times a month. Although I don't travel, I like that it came with a travelling charging case. I just see it as an extra charger in case something happens to my regular one. If you decide to buy I recommend looking at every electric toothbrush from this brand & comparing the cleaning options that are available for each one (I love how this one had a lot to choose from). They made it extremely easy on Amazon for me to compare them. The cleaning options you're interested in might result in a cheaper brush, you might not be interested in multiple cleaning options. Also compare the Bluetooth stuff. I don't care about the extra blue tooth stuff so I got this one which is cheaper. Whichever brush you choose, I'm sure you will not be disappointed. This brand is fantastic & I would definitely buy from them again whenever my brush is done for.

Daily Brilliance: Discover the Habit-Forming Magic of the iO 9 Series
Overall Satisfaction: I give the Oral-B iO Series 9 a solid 5. This toothbrush is amazing and well worth the higher cost compared to other series. Main Purpose: I purchased this toothbrush to maintain optimal dental health and minimize the need for extensive dental procedures. Ease of Use: The toothbrush is excellent, and you can even turn on the phone to track your performance. It offers awards for meeting specific goals, some of which can be challenging to achieve. Performance: The Series 9 comes with additional sensors and a flat magnetic mount for convenient charging. While the battery drains quickly, it's not an issue for short 2-3 minute sessions. Features: The ability to visually track cleaning habits is a standout feature. With multiple modes available, I typically use sensitive, whitening, or daily settings. Durability: The toothbrush is very durable, and despite the quick battery drain, it's not problematic for regular use. Value for Money: Although expensive, the toothbrush pays for itself when considering the savings on dental bills, primarily limited to cleanings. Comparisons: Compared to other Oral-B models, the Series 9 is more advanced, with the phone app being the most significant difference. It provides detailed information about brushing habits and areas that need improvement. Pros: Maintain Oral Health: Keep your teeth clean and healthy with advanced features. App Integration: Track your brushing habits and receive feedback on the app. Charging Options: Charge the toothbrush using the magnetic mount or the convenient travel case with an attached cable. Cons: Lack of Apple Watch Compatibility: It would be more convenient if the toothbrush worked with the Apple Watch, eliminating the need to pull out the phone for information. Additional Tips: For a clean toothbrush and to avoid hardened toothpaste, use the travel charger instead of the magnetic mount. Cleaning the head after each use and washing it with water is also recommended. Recommendation: If you're looking for a top-notch toothbrush that not only ensures oral health but also provides insightful data through a dedicated app, the Oral-B iO Series 9 is worth the investment.

A baffling design flaw in a very expensive toothbrush
I bought the Oral-B iO Series 9 expecting a premium product. The toothbrush itself has a lot to recommend it, but the charging base has one of the worst design flaws I have encountered in a consumer product. The iO9 is a relatively tall, expensive electronic device, yet while charging it essentially balances upright on a small, shallow magnetic base. There is no meaningful post, socket, collar, or other mechanical support to keep the handle from tipping sideways. Because the handle is so tall, it takes remarkably little lateral force to knock it off the charger. This isn’t a hypothetical concern. I had a previous Oral-B toothbrush fall from its charger and break. With this one, I eventually stopped keeping it conveniently in the bathroom because I didn’t trust the charger to keep it secure. I actually improvised a second magnetic support against the handle when I kept it elsewhere, which dramatically improved its stability. What makes this especially frustrating is that the problem is neither difficult to foresee nor difficult to solve. Competing electric toothbrushes use charging designs that mechanically locate and support the handle. Even a modest post, recess, collar, or other positive restraint could dramatically reduce the chance of an expensive toothbrush being knocked onto a hard bathroom floor. For a flagship toothbrush at this price, this is particularly difficult to excuse. Oral-B put enormous engineering effort into the iO’s display, sensors, pressure detection, Bluetooth connectivity, brushing modes, and app integration. The company should have put comparable thought into the much simpler requirement that the toothbrush remain standing securely while it charges. Prospective buyers should know about this before purchasing because it isn’t something obvious from the feature list. If you buy one, be very careful where you place the charger

Great Toothbrush
This toothbrush is really great. My teeth feels clean just like after a visit to the dentist. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars it’s because for some reason it keeps sending a message on my phone to change the head. This message was showing on the second day after use, like I had used the brush for many hours. Maybe it is a software problem that can be solved with an update. Also there is no option to turn it off. So it seems to be on for longer than it should, wasting battery. The battery life is good. Im traveling for almost 2 weeks now (12 days) and didn’t need to charge it yet. The app is cool but unpractical to use every day. It would be nice if they could make a change to record the data without the need to open the app on the phone. Like smartwatches do with activities, etc. The green light really helps me not to use too much strength which was a problem I had. The travel case could be charged with a usb. For travel purposes it would be nice not having to carry another charger just for the brush. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase. It is an expensive brush indeed, but for me was totally worth it.

This one is a game changer!
I LOVE this toothbrush!! This is NOT my first electric toothbrush :) I started with a Sonicare -which I really liked. I liked that it told you if you were brushing too hard and the different brushing modes It was about $150 but it only lasted a year or so, so that made me mad! I switched to the Oral-B Pro 1000 which was only about $50 and has lasted a very long time. I have a smaller mouth so the heads on the Oral-B work better for me. I am an aggressive brusher so the simple Oral-B Pro 1000 was really not ideal. It has a timer but nothing more. So I was wearing out the enamel on one side of my mouth. I did all this research on which one to try next and I ended up with the IO 9. I got this for $250 which was LOT, but now that I have been using it - it was totally worth it. I cannot believe how much cleaner my teeth are for the same amount of brushing time. I can feel the difference. Also I love the color to tell me if I am pressing to hard or not enough. I do switch the cleaning mode every day as well. So I do the Daily Clean at night and the Sensitive or Gum Care in the morning. The app is cool too! I love the analysis of my brushing. I heard a dentist say that we should change which hand we brush with to get even cleaning -and he is not wrong! I definitely get one side more than the other. Who knew! I only hope that this one lasts a long time since it was a LOT of money. So far it has been worth it!!

So far I am extremely impressed with this. I owned the io5 . I am glad I upgraded. The tongue and gum feature are great. And it has a rechargeable case winner .
