About five months ago, I was offered a free bottle of Longvida Optimized Curcumin Supplement (500mg) for review via the Amazon Vine Program, and I accepted. I've been regularly taking curcumin for *at least* nine years, since I first read about it's potential as an anti-inflammatory. I often change brands, as I'm looking for the best technology and value. Since October, 2017, I've been purchasing Doctor's Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva, 500 mg . It seems to be a good product at a decent price compared to other brands. The Meriva formula is supposed to absorb better than the previous formula using BioPerine. But now, there are some new Curcumin kids on the block. This Longvida Optimized Curcumin supposedly has even better absorption and other benefits over Meriva. So here I am again, reviewing a curcumin supplement, but I'm not really certain that it's actually doing anything (positive) for my almost five decades old body. As I've said with another Curcumin supplement I reviewed last year, I cannot say that 1) I ever really noticed that Curcumin has done anything for me in the nine+ years I've been taking it, or that 2), this Longvida Optimized Curcumin is any better or worse than the Doctor's Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva or the Viva Naturals Curcumin C3 with BioPerine I was taking before that. I guess you can say that I take it on faith that all of this Curcumin I've been taking all these years is doing something useful. As far as it's claims to improve joint health, I cannot say that my occasionally painful left knee, or any other part of me, feels any differently than it did before I started taking the Longvida Optimized Curcumin five months ago. I will say that I have switched to this Longvida Optimized Curcumin brand and I have purchased three more bottles since this initial free bottle. It goes without saying that with all of these supplements, YMMV.

I ordered this supplement hoping for some relief from arthritic symptoms in my feet. (I have not been diagnosed with arthritis; basically my feet were just really stiff and sore in the morning such that it was difficult to even walk upon first rising from bed— which I attributed to some sort of inflammation.) In addition, it had been suggested by my psychiatrist that I might consider taking turmeric for its mental health benefits. Apparently there is research showing that some mental illness (Alzheimer’s and depression, for example) may be caused or exacerbated by an inflammation of the brain itself— and that an anti-inflammatory diet may help relieve these symptoms. I had purchased some curcumin supplements from Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco (which has an extremely well-stocked section of herbs, tinctures, supplements, etc— and is probably the overall best grocery store in the United States), but then did some more research about curcumin’s bioavailability etc. and it started to seem like the Longvida formulation would be most effective, so I went on Amazon (I live in New York so couldnt go back to Rainbow to look for it unfortunately...) and saw that the Longvida forumlation was being sold by a number of different companies. Igennus’ offering seemed reasonably priced and I appreciated them telling a little bit about the company in their product listing. Also they are based in Cambridge and although they claim no affiliation with the University, I just sort of associate Cambridge with high-level intelligence and success, good breeding etc. (I’m only partially joking about that bit.) Anyway I ordered the supplements, they came like the next day or something (thanks Amazon, very convenient— although I do have serious questions about your labor practices, and about your effect on small “brick and mortar” retail businesses etc., although on the other hand your platform enables a small company like Igennus to sell their product around the globe to many people who might not otherwise have had access to it, so— complicated) and I began taking them, starting with two a day right off. About that time I received an email from Igennus directly, which contained a nutritionist’s advice about the product and how to take it, as well as some answers to frequently asked questions etc. I really appreciated this and got a sense that they they truly do stand behind their product and honestly care about the well-being and improved health of their customers. Of course this could just be good marketing, but it worked on me, and more importantly the product itself has worked tremendously. I can report nearly complete relief from the physical symptoms that led me to seek out this supplement. The mental symptoms... well, perhaps not so much but we’ll see! To sum up (and perhaps could have skipped all this discussion but hopefully it’s of use to someone), I am very satisfied with both seller and product— five stars well deserved!

I had a detached retina and my eye surgeon recommended taking 1000 mg per day following surgery for the next month. I have had no issues with it. Interestingly, I also have had knee issues for many years and noted my knee is much better as well. Not sure if a coincidence or not; but I intend to keep taking it and going back to 500mg dose after the month of eye recovery is up.

These capsules are huge. The ones I had before, same brand, though 400mg not 500mg, were tiny. These are so big. I tried one with a big gulp of water and it still got stuck in my throat. I'll have to return them.

Been using this product for nearly a week and saw an improvement pretty much straight away. I suffer with mild ME/CFS and have aches, fatigue and brain fog amongst other symptoms. I surprisingly felt a relief with my brain fog, it started to lift almost immediately. My aches are beginning to reduce also. I can’t wait to see what I feel like in a months time and will update my progress. I’m really pleased and will continue to use alongside Vegepa by the same company. The best thing about this product for me is that I have some issues with detoxing supplements through my liver and this products bypasses the liver and reaches the blood brain barrier what more could I ask for! Well done Igennus you did it again 5 ⭐️ from me!

Longvida version is hard to find so this is a great option.

Ich bin mit Longvida® Optimised Curcumin 500 mg sehr zufrieden. Im Vergleich zu anderen Curcumin-Produkten habe ich hier deutlich schneller eine spürbare Wirkung bemerkt. Der Unterschied liegt klar in der SLCP®-Technologie, die eine sehr hohe Bioverfügbarkeit ermöglicht. Das Präparat ist gut verträglich und wirkt bei mir konstant und zuverlässig.
