Would this be good for elk out to 40 yards?

Smart question - many people don't realize how different deer and elk hunting are! As the seller mentioned, you need to know 1) kinetic energy needed to penetrate the thorax of an elk 2) the mass of your bolt and broadhead 3) the speed at which the crossbow is firing your bolts. Spoiler alert: I know people who kill elk much further than 40 yards with bows that produce much less kinetic energy than this crossbow is capable of. That should get you started - do a deep dive, and enjoy!

What yardage does each line for the reticle represent?

Usually 10 to 15 yards. They are fast and accurate. My top pin is good from 10 yes to 30 yards

Is the stock the same as the Bone Collector 370 stock? Thinking about buying a front end to put on my 370 stock

Hello Jonathan! The stock is not the same as the Bone Collector 370. The B370 has a 14.5" powerstroke and the Fierce 405 has a 13" powerstroke. You also have to be very careful with switching parts because the cams and limbs are designed to move in a certain length and range of motion (think of the let-off) with minimal vibration to blow up in a shooter's face.
