SteelSeries New Arctis Nova 3 Multi-Platform Gaming Headset - Black

Whether by accident or design all my peripherals to date have been Razer, this includes the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition Headset, it was a good headset with excellent sound and build quality, it lasted me for years despite being dropped, stepped on, twisted and bent, the mic finally gave out after i accidentally dropped it in a bucket of water and even then every other aspect of the headset worked. If this sounds like a ringing endorsement of the Razer, it is, so much so i was intending to just buy the exact same headset to replace it. But instead i took a chance with the Steel Series Arctis Nova 3, it was slightly cheaper than the Kraken at the time and in my honest opinion it is better in every way, the sound clarity for the cost is appreciably better than the Kraken and the Mic comes with noise cancelling that i actually use because it works and isn't a pointless gimmick. But, where it truly shines over the Kraken is the absolutely better software if you've owned a Razer Headset you will agree that it can be a pain sometimes to get the software to function properly, and sometimes it just stops working randomly, not to mention there was an entire period of time where the THX feature of the Kraken {yes the biggest selling point of the headset} literally stopped working for months after a Razer software update, no such issue with Steel Series' Sonar. Another major complaint i had with the Razer is the control box for the THX spatial audio and other controls its an annoying dangling hinderance, it comes with sticky tape but that then limits how far away from your device you can take it, it's by far the worst aspect of the Razer Kraken, all the controls for the Arctis Nova are flush with the headset and easily identifiable and useable without actually needing to see them. Another problem with the Razer Kraken was the design of the ear muffs made my face a sticky sweaty mess, this made it difficult to wear for extended period in a non-air conditioned room, the Arctis Nova 3 is by far more comfortable and the weight of the headset is noticeably lighter than the Kraken. All in all if you're looking for a good sub 100$ dollar headset and you inevitably come up with a head to head between this and the Razer Kraken, this one is better by far.

The best price to performance wired option for spatial audio and competitive gaming. The Good: Works with every device via 3.5 (aux) or USB. Plenty of included cord length. Great noise-canceling mic Exceptional Almighty spatial audio (the highs, mids, and lows are all very present and accounted for). Excellent build quality. Durable and easily adjusted. Customization: Leds and EQ tunings using the software on PC. The Neutral At this price a wired headset should include a case, stand, or something—anything really. The bass is average when not using custom preset on PC and it's lacking over 3.5. The 40mm Steel Series drivers (like all their headsets) would all be better if they were larger (50mm). It's average at cancelling other noises around you (ie busy traffic, barking dog, etc.) The bad: Usb and internal DAC as well as LEDs don't work on Xbox. (You can plug up the USB wasting a port just to get the lighting, but why?) You might as well buy the Arctis Nova 1's if you don't have a device to take advantage of the USB connection. If you have multiple devices and most (or the primary) can use the USB, then this is the best option (at this price point). If you want Hi-Fi audio, then the Arctis Nova Pro Wired is what you want (probably the best cans I've owned that's both decent at scratching the audiophile itch and delivering exceptional gaming audio―everything just sounds better!) For wireless there's the new Nova 7's which are great, but if you want to have two systems hooked up simultaneously I highly recommend the Nova Pro Wireless. I love the new Nova lineup, but I do believe SS needs to start offer larger drivers, include more accesories, or charge Less. I will be reviewing the Nova Pro as well. Thanks for reading! Thanks for reading this quick review

The Arctis Nova 3 Multi-Platform Gaming Headset, and it’s a pretty solid headset overall. While it’s not wireless, the fit is snug and comfortable, and it stays secure even during long gaming sessions. The ear cups are nice and cushioned, which adds to the overall comfort. In terms of sound, it’s decent. The signature Arctis sound is clear, and while it might not be as booming or immersive as some premium models, it still does the job well for gaming, music, and voice chat. The ClearCast Gen 2 mic is a nice touch—my voice comes through clearly, and there’s very little background noise, which is great for multiplayer games. One downside is the lack of wireless functionality, which I personally miss when I’m gaming. But for those who don’t mind being wired, this headset offers great value for the price. It works well across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and mobile, making it a versatile option for gamers on multiple platforms. Overall, I’m happy with the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3. It’s comfortable, the sound is good for the price, and it offers reliable performance across various platforms. It’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a solid headset without breaking the bank.

I opted to get wired headphones instead of wireless, so while these have no bluetooth capabilities they are still super nice headphones (that come in really nice packaging) and don't need to be charged. They've held up really well for as long as I've had them and are comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time, though I've occasionally experienced discomfort wearing them in combination with glasses or piercings. Friends say the microphone quality is clear and audible, but there has been an issue with the microphone not picking up the first word or so of a sentence. A button on the headphones allows the microphone to be muted which is then indicated by a red light at the end, which is super nice. The microphone being able to be extended and stored back in the headphones is incredibly useful as it makes it discreet and keeps it protected when not being used. The audio is clear and crisp, and having the ability to change the volume from the headphones itself makes them incredibly versatile so they can be used in combination with a number of devices from a console or laptop to a phone, made easier by the two different cables sent. The only downfall of a phone is it doesn't provide the customisability of the audio mixer and colour display. The SteelSeries app has some serious customisability, though, and it is super cool to mess around and make different sets. I got the headphones while they were on sale, and I was initially skeptical, but I'm really glad I got them and they were worth the money. So much so that if I plan on getting a wireless pair in the future, I'll stick with SteelSeries.

Good audio quality. Love the retractible mic. Comfortable to wear for several hours (3-5)(I dont really wear them for longer than 5, but I've never been uncomfortable wearing them). Does come with an app that I dont need (why does everything have an app these days)

I've never returned a product to Amazon before today. These headphones come with sidetone enabled, meaning that you are constantly listening to your own microphone input. There is nothing in the box nor control on the headset which allows you to disable sidetone. This would be annoying enough, but the microphone on the set I received was not good quality. It had an extremely noticeable hiss of white noise, which was constantly fed back into the headset, and with no way to disable the sidetone or modulate its volume, the only way to get rid of the hiss is to turn down the volume wheel extremely low, making it hard to hear anything you are listening to. I guessed that the SteelSeries software would have a means to disable sidetone. This functionality is not listed on the SteelSeries website for the Nova 3, but is for other models. Downloading the SteelSeries GG software, it was evident there was no means by which I could download only the hardware utility software, but was forced to download a large suite of extraneous bloatware, which includes a video game overlay which is enabled by default, as well as enabled by default clipping tools which I had no use for and did not want running on my machine. Once I was finally able to disable the sidetone on this headset, I realized shortly afterwards that any small motion of the stiff cable attached to the headset, anything rubbing or bumping it, causes loud, distracting noises in the left ear cuff. Utterly fed up with every aspect of the customer experience, this was the final straw that made me return this piece of garbage. Assorted other notes: The microphone does not include a windscreen. Exhaled air striking the microphone is extremely audible, as well as vocal pops. You will have to buy a separate windscreen to cover the microphone. The headset is uncomfortably small. While I have an admittedly large head, I have not encountered this problem with any other headset I have owned, that at full extension the ear cups could barely cover my ears. The ear cups themselves are small and cramped. Overall this headset is just extremely uncomfortable to wear. Do not purchase this product. Beyond the obvious mechanical issues, the user experience is designed in an actively hostile and predatory manner to force customers to download a suite of extraneous software in order to access basic features. I have owned SteelSeries headsets in the past and liked them, but I will not be purchasing any product from the company in the future.

Wife and I both got a pair. We find them comfortable, light, and love the flex boom feature. The only gripe for me is the left ear pod is where the phono-USB cable attaches and it's short length leaves little room for relaxed movement as my PC case is on my right and no convenient way to rearrange the configuration. So it's a personal problem I'm working to solve. Use the included drivers for usb-usb cable connectivity and all features (lighting, sound control, auxillary volume) which is how my wife uses it. Or skip the drama and use them with phone port output and use the volume and mute controls on the left ear pod, and no lighting - fine with me! Comfort, flexibility, sound = great value. Only complaint is that the mute button is too easy to accidently trigger when picking up and setting down - so always try to be mindful and check it, or sound check when joining game or meetings.

I got these for $44 used.. The rating was very good with a trusted verified seller. I can't tell if it's a lemon and why it was returned. Perhaps it's because it's used or perhaps it's an issue with the headphones themselves. However it'll often just start screeching loud static every once in a while. The only way to fix it is to disconnect the headphones and reconnect them. While it's not a huge deal... it is annoying to have incredibly loud/harsh screeching in your ear periodically. It usually only happens make 5-10 times a month, but still not what you want from headphones. Edit: Had these less than a year and now they're completely unusable. Whenever I plug it in it causes all my other power outlets to start flickering and shuts off power to them. Makes a constant clicking sound and flickers all my outlets. Tried a lot of things, nothing seems to fix it. Might be able to eventually get it to work... but puts me in a poor condition having to use my backup mic until I either fix the issue or replace the headset. If I have to replace the headset I'll be knocking another star off. However the sound quality is good, but most wired headphones are just superior to wireless in sound quality. I have a $400-500 wireless headphone set that was vastly outperformed (sound quality wise) by a $100+ Philips Audio Fidelio X2HR . If you can get that for $75 or less I feel it's a better deal than this headset at $44. However for $44 this has good sound quality. The mic isn't the best, but it works fine. I bought it because my work headset was causing weird issues. Lesson learned... more money doesn't always mean a better result. If you're seriously looking for a headset for work or gaming I'd recommend looking for a wired headset in the $100-200 range. You don't need a more expensive one and at the $100+ mark you're less likely to be hit with a cheaper build to justify the lower price point. However if you want a headset for $50 or less this is a decent one used. Just remember that buying used/refurbished you can get issues like what I did. You're always rolling the dice even if the odds aren't too bad. More like rolling snake eyes to end your run.

Exelente sonido muy buenos graves y bajo, el GG sonar exelente para personalizad tus headsets para cualquier juego cod, pubg, etcet…

My son uses these for gaming and really likes them. The sound is clear, and I like that there’s an extra band that keeps the hard part of the headset off your head—makes it more comfortable for long sessions. The ear cushions are soft and the fit is adjustable, so no complaints there. The hidden mic is a great touch—easy to pull out when needed or keep tucked away. It also has a quick mute button, which is super convenient. The RGB lights can be turned on or off, which is nice if you don’t always want them flashing. It comes with multiple cords so you can use it across different devices. We had a bit of mic movement noise using the USB-C to USB-C on my son’s iPad the first time, but it hasn’t been a big issue. Overall, it’s a great headset for gaming, and we love how flexible it is for different setups.

Prompt delivery and product as described. Great for the kids to play for playstation 5.

good quality
