Versatile and Reliable LoRa Radio with Built-In GPS
The LoRa T-Beam V1 is an impressive device for long-range communication projects. I use it in my mesh network, and it consistently delivers stable, reliable performance even over extended distances. The built-in GPS is a major advantage for location tracking, and the onboard OLED display makes quick status checks easy. Setup with Meshtastic firmware is straightforward, and the active community provides excellent support for troubleshooting and customization. The unit feels solid and well-built, striking a great balance between portability and durability. Battery life is strong, especially with a quality 18650 cell, and the integrated battery socket makes setup hassle-free. Micro USB charging adds convenience for field use. While geared toward hobbyists and tech enthusiasts, itโs robust enough for serious outdoor work. Overall, the T-Beam V1 is a versatile, affordable, and dependable LoRa solution. Just noteโnewer versions are available with improved efficiency and updated configurations, like USB-C and a better display..

A solid performer all around.
Worked out of the box, easy to program and has solid constant signal with no losses. I used a bigger antenna and have no problem meshing with others. The battery is more than adequate to hold it for two or three days. Best value of all the mesh boards I have purchased so far.

Nice little device! great for hobbyists and doesn't require a lot of expertise.
Nifty little device. Seems solid. Documentation could be better, but it's a sufficient pointer to online stuff. Need an enclosure. Reasonably priced for what it is. Nice and small too! Comes plug and play so its easy to get going.

Works, but only after updating to latest firmware
If you use this board (firmware 2.0.10) with the current version of meshtastic Android app it will not work properly. Mostly Bluetooth configs and messages will fail with the occasional success when you cycle the connection. That said its easy to correct but the meshtastic website will lead you wrong. If you update the firmware with the web installer the device will be dead (but not bricked). As someone mentioned in the Q&A you'll need to do this firmware upgrade with the python cli firmware instructions (esptool) it's fairly straight forward. Just follow the meshtastic website instructions. Note: if you are on Linux you may need to gain access to the serial port. Most distros make the group dialout owner so you can just add yourself to the group. Or run it all with sudo. Esptool will run several times but once it finishes the devices will work very well. I purchased 3 with oled soldered and all worked well after successfully updating the firmware. Just wish I hadn't wasted hours trying to figure out why the installed firmware had issues and why the meshtastic web updater kept leaving me with dead devices.

5stars for the Meshtastic version
Holy smokes this thing is literally plug n play. I thought I was going to have to connect this to the pc and do some programming etc, Worked perfect right out the box. I purchased 3 of these to play around my neighborhood. I installed my own supplied 18650 batteries, turn it on, the screen tells you to open the Meshtastic app, it pops up as node you click it, add the pairing pin on the screen and bam your in and geeking! I love this thing. I may purchase a few more for our upcoming family cruise! Highly recommend. I canโt wait to test the distances. Ill keep this review updated after some testing.

Easy mode
Super easy to setup, I'd call it easy mode. Solid build quality and has been happily running since setup. good value for low effort entry, but it's almost too easy so if you're looking for a fun day project, this probably isn't it. took minutes to setup.

A great way to get started with Meshtastic
I had no problems getting started with these. They work with the (well made) free iPhone app. You can update the firmware by plugging into your computer and visiting flasher.meshtastic.com. If you are starting from 0, suggest purchasing two units. Radios arenโt fun if you have nothing to connect to. The forums donโt like the stock antenna but you can upgrade that later.

Worth it!
I printed an excellent case from printables for it, and I added environment sensors. Great product!

Great entry device for meshtastic
Works great, especially if you want an "all in one" sort of thing. It's an ESP32, so as expected there's battery drain. So definitely not for solar setups. I believe I got about 24 hours out of mine with an 18650. You'll eventually need/want a better antenna though, but that's expected. I like that the default antenna is compact and it bends, but in terms of range just grab something bigger. As you're getting further into meshtastic, you're gonna be buying lots of additions and antennas and what not.

Solid Meshtastic Device
Setup on the current Meshtastic firmware and installed a rooftop node. Does what it says, but remember to change the antenna. The shipped antenna when measured with a Nano-VNA was way off the 915 band.
