Guitar Solid Body Electric Guitar with Gigbag LPYS-006 (Purple)

This is an awesome guitar for the price. after receiving it I was concerned about the warmth of the neck pickup. I am used to cranking the volume up on all my pickup volume and tone. lol, come to find out from review videos, (I watched after receiving). I discovered i had to turn the volume of the neck pup t down due to the out put of the pup. it's actually a lil' over 10k output and bridge is a lil' over 11k output. the neck is warm and beautiful sounding, but with that much out put on my setup, it was toooo overpowering and muddy so I have to turn the volume of the neck pup down especially with my distortion pedal active and with that she sounds beautiful, so beware of the neck output, lol. other than that, beautiful looks, setup and sound from both pickups. all I had to do out of the box was tune it and condition the fretboard. I like a natural back of neck so I sanded and conditioned it to my liking. But Yeah, great product, love playing it and everything about it. it has been stated in comments that the "natural flamed maple top is a picture" and to my viewing, it is. there is No 3D appearance maple gives off, so it isn't even a veneer but still ALMOST as beautiful and the guitar it self is definitely worth the money. the body is mahogany and after sanding off the finish and conditioning it, the neck is the new standard of mahogany and a 3 piece so accidental breakage of the headstock is unlikely. GREAT GUITAR! Definitely would recommend for beginners to professional looking for comfortable, fun, low price very well setup guitar. by the way it came with a string hight of barely above 2mm, PERFECT for me, fun and comfortable to play and looks and sounds beautiful and stays in tune. no real need for any upgrades really (which is why I buy lower end guitars to begin with), lol. VREY HAPPY!

I just received the Grote Les Paul and I have to say it is very impressive. I’ve played guitar for over 30 years and performed live for over 15. I own Gibsons, PRS, Ibanez and an Epiphone and I would put the Grote up there with the Epiphone LP for playability, tone, appearance and quality. Action is low, pick ups are good, quality tuners hold even after strong solo bends. I tried this based on some YouTube video reviews and social media sites and was actually very surprised at how good this guitar is. For under $200 you can’t go wrong.

Overall it is excellent! BUT to get it to the best level you will need to spend some money and have some guitar repair/maintenance skills. The pickups are basic, they work and sound okay, but either way I would recommend they be replaced as I would most budget instruments. The strings it came with seemed cheap and low quality and/or possibly slightly corroded from sitting in the box, but I almost never use the strings a inexpensive guitar came with anyway, replace those. Overall the action was decently accurate as well as the intonation, you may have to make some adjustments if you change the strings to fine tune it, I also did give the neck a little relief and had to raise the bass side a little as the open string was buzzing a little bit (again likely because of the string change). Overall fretwork was decent but on the high e string there was a small gap between the fret and the fretboard the sting was getting stuck under but generally it isn't a problem, nothing a gentle wack may not fix, but if you are not confident take it to a guitar tech. Once I gutted all of the electronics and replaced them with a Epiphone Probucker pickup set and quick connect wire harness, it sounded awesome, I had to reuse the pickup rings from the original pickup's as the rings the probucker set came with were not lined up with the holes in the body, but here is another caveat. Nothing is shielded in this guitar, not a single cavity, so if you don't want interference you will need to get some shielding copper tape or shielding paint (pros and cons of tape vs paint, tape is quick and cheap but tedious work and may not be very pretty, paint will be easier to get coverage but messier to apply and likely take longer as you will have to wait some time in between coats to apply another), this is something you may want to do while all the pickups and pots are out as you will have to remove everything again to do this (I am impatient and didn't pre-purchase paint or tape so I will at a later time have to fix this). But yeah, so overall this is a decent guitar for the money, but be prepared to do some work and/or know someone who can work on it for you, or be prepared to pay someone to so this work for you, but honestly it would cost you as much or more to pay someone to do the work as the guitar itself, so not really feasible if you are on a budget, at that point just save up the money for another guitar. Hope this helps someone's buying decision!

I love these Grote guitars. The value is hard to beat, for sure. However, the best part for me is these are truly nice guitars. The finish is beautiful. The electronics just work. The pickups sound great. The neck is comfortable. The frets are nicely finished (smooth and polished surfaces, no sharp edges). The tuning machines are stable. The inlays are attractive and smooth. I've been playing guitar on and off for 30+ years. I'm thrilled, absolutely thrilled, to have these guitars. I bought the blue ES-335 first. I was so impressed I bought the purple Les Paul as soon as they were in stock. They are playable out of the box (after tuning, of course). They come with decent enough 10's already installed. The strings have D'Addario color coded ball ends, but I'm not convinced they are actual D'Addarios. The dye color isn't quite right. Regardless, they are serviceable strings. The action comes a little high for my preference. The neck had too much relief by the time it got to me. A simple careful truss rod adjustment was all it took. Intonation was pretty close, too. I figure they leave the factory with high action in order to allow for wood movement and have it still be playable between the plant in China and whenever/wherever it gets to the customer. Just think, it was built in China a few months ago (with nice materials and great attention to detail - not a gripe, just an observation about location). It gets packaged, makes an ocean voyage on a container ship, arrives on US shores, makes its way to a seller by train/truck, and then gets shipped to me via Amazon (planes and trucks). The guitar experienced lots of temperature and humidity situations and it _still_ arrives payable. It's well packaged in a heavy cardboard box inside its gig bag, surrounded by a reasonable amount of styrofoam. If you know how to do a basic setup - neck relief, bridge height, intonation - you can dial in a nicely shredable 4/64ths on the base and .005 neck relief at the 7th, though normal temperature/humidity fluctuations will mean you're chasing that a lot. Set it up with 6/64ths on the bass and maybe .008 neck relief and you can probably let out sit on a stand all year without fret buzz and without any notes fretting out due to low action. The blue 335 has what I believe to be a graphic of flame maple. The grain is just a bit too big, more like a tiger stripe, and it doesn't look quite right up close. From 10 feet away, though, it's fine. The purple LP, well, it's hard to tell. Maybe it's a graphic. Maybe it's a maple top. I can't tell up close, and I definitely can't tell from a few feet away. Which means it's pretty ducking nice. The Amazon product description for the LP indicate "single coil" pickups, which is incorrect. They are definitely humbuckers (which is what I wanted anyway). My LP does _not_ have coil split push/pull pots, but my 335 does. I believe Grote sells a different LP model _with_ coil splits. All things considered, I'd buy them again. I'll probably buy more in the future.

If you’re looking for a wallet‑friendly Les Paul alternative that doesn’t feel like a compromise every time you pick it up, this knockoff is a pleasant reminder that sometimes the underdog really does deliver.

Great Guitar, not just for the price. With a guitar that costs less than $200, I was skeptical of the quality. I've been impressed by the quality of Leo Jaymz guitars (another budget brand) so I took a chance on a Grote LP style. Ive been playing it for a few days now and can report it's a really good guitar. It's a little on the heavy side, as a LP should be, and overall just a great sounding and playing instrument. The tuners, and the rest of the hardware don't feel cheap and the guitar stays in tune as well as my Gibson LP. The "flame top" is a printed veneer, but it looks nice both up close and from a distance. The neck is the most important part of the guitar for me and the neck on this one is great. Glossy back, 60's profile, and stainless steel ball end frets are flawless, smooth, and well polished. Only a small truss rod adjustment was needed for a perfect setup. The action and intonation were set perfectly at the factory. The pickups are ceramic and sound good with the bridge pickup measuring 11k resistance and 10k on the neck pickup. Would definitely buy again and highly recommend.

A broken guitar showed up. Nope, it wasn't the mail. QC was nonexistent on this one. Well, I guess we try again! Sent it back, got a replacement promptly. Four frets were rocking slightly. Not enough to complain about. The ceramic pickups sound great with gain. Unfortunately they are microphonic as all hell. I'll fix that by removing the pickup covers and put some silicone adhesive between the pickup and the cover. Neck is like a 60's neck and straight. Action and intonation were fine out of the box. No fret sprouting which is good. The tuners are every bit as good as Gibson Kluson tuners, not a bad one in the bunch. I see no need for locking tuners. I feel like the plastic nut might be absorbing sustain. Maybe I'll check and see if the bridge and tailpiece are jiggling. The ceramic pickups sounds like PAFs which I prefer over those overwound Epiphone pieces of garbage. I was 100% certain that I was going to replace the pickups, but they are good enough! No need for strap locks on this guitar. Gibson needs to take notes. Dime sized pots don't really bother me as I rarely use the tone knobs. The strings (for the first time ever) are actually good strings! I see nothing wrong with the fit and finish. Perfect for a beginner but quite honestly, a pro could make it sound like a dream right out of the box. Hey Grote, if you want more stars don't be putting broken guitars in shipping boxes. OK? put them in the garbage where they belong! Update. I had some time to file down four frets. Almost didn't need any filing but I wanted it to be perfect. It did not take much to get there. Yep, Bridge and tailpiece were Jiggling so I wrapped the bolts in foil, and screwed them down tight. So much better, but I could barely get the tailpiece back on! melted some wax between the pickups and covers, and put them back in place. Rubbed the fretboard with mineral oil and now she's ready to go. Now time to put new strings on. Daddario 9/46. Yep. That's the perfect set of strings for 24 3/4 scale. Sounds fabulous in the clean channel (Peavey triple X) now time to crank it up! MUCH Better! No microphonic squealing, better sustain. Now (besides the pots) it's every bit as good as a $2500 Les Paul. Who wants to fight me about it? The frets are perfect, the pickups are perfect, the tuners are perfect, the binding and finish are perfect, the 60s neck is perfect. If someone gave me a choice of an Epiphone or this, I'd take this guitar any day of the week.

I am absolutely DUMBFOUNDED at how utterly fantastic this instrument is for the money!! I'll list out specifics about it below: 1. Fretboard and frets - the frets are BALL ended meaning they are perfectly smooth, and i simply cannot believe it for this price. Not even on very expensive guitars do you see this. The frets are all perfectly level. The neck is straight and perfect. The action is very low and it has near zero buzzing at such a low string height. It does buzz very slightly at standard tuning, but thats easy to fix with a bit of a turn on the bridge. It will only require a very tiny adjustment. The neck is a touch dry but a bit of neck conditioning oil is going to fix that easily. The back of the neck is gloss finished, but it's smooth and not grippy. 2. Finish and weight - the color i ordered, antique sunburst... it's perfect. It's so beautiful. I'm very happy with this colour. The weight is solid, not overly heavy and it's balanced. 3. Pickups - they sound great. I think they might actually be wax potted. 4. Tuners - very stable and steady. High quality for the money. 5. Strings - they are not bad at all, and i don't even feel the need to replace them immediately. I expected them to be very bad based on others comments but they are actually good. 6. Accessories - they include a cord and an allen wrench. Crazy value. The case, while yes of course it feels a bit cheap, it has padding! And I don't care if it feels cheap! It's there to protect the guitar and it has pockets. I have no complaints about the case at all. In summary, I can't believe I got such an incredible guitar for such a low amount spent. This is unreal. The design on this guitar will look good in any genre. If you wanted to modify it you could, but even i bought a graphtech tusq nut to change it to, and I'm not really even sure if i want to mess with the guitar at all. It's just so perfect.

Recieved the guitar little late but it qas worth waiting Mr Danish was co ordinating and giving updates by when it will reach and jpw long it will take. The guitar I recieved in perfect condition no scratch super shiny and the sound quality is awesome. Just had to adjust the 1st and 2nd fret buzz over all guitar is worth buying. And it's my 1st electric guitar. Thank u Mr Danish and ur team for sending the perfect guitar.

昔の店頭オリジナルギター程度を想像したが、丁寧に作られていて品質は相当良い、ケースが軽いのがプラス要素、ただし合板だから部品交換するとガッカリ

ギブソンとか弾いたこと無いけど、エフェクターを継ぐから中国製でも全然問題なし。いい買い物したと思ってます。
