Be aware the mat is not dual-sided. The listing says it is not dual-sided but reviews and the box it comes in state otherwise. They no longer offer a dual-sided mat.Pros: The pieces are great. Nice weight. Good size. The King weighed about 76grams. The bags for the pieces are a nice touch. The mat lays perfectly flat. You can fold the mat in the bag without worrying about creasing. The storage box is well made. You can clean the mat with soap and water without damaging it.Cons: The mat easily collects dust and debris. My mat & piece bag came with some staining that would not come clean (this may have just slipped through quality checks though). The company email on the card insert is no longer active.I contacted the company through Amazon and they were more than understanding of the issues. They stood by their warranty completely and I am satisfied with the outcome.Overall, I was initially wary about the quality of this purchase but the customer service has made me confident of their business practices and willingness to bring a quality purchase to each consumer.Conclusion: I would definitely recommend this product for purchase. It’s a good travel set without sacrificing size and weight. If you are looking for small, this is not your set. If you are looking for a display piece, this is probably not your set. If you are looking for a tournament set, this is probably the one. If you are looking for a great starter set or an upgrade to a cheap or light weight set, this is the one.

Played a few games, it's fine. The weight is impressive. I wish the queen was a little larger relative to the other pieces.I hear this kind of board tends to collect little particles, but seems easy enough to clean. I like the green color. It does have a strong odor at first.Packaging is excellent and the box design is cool. Speaking of that, this was not shipped in a cardboard box, so the nice exterior box design is going to get damaged in shipping.I have a feeling the soft black and white bags will disintegrate over time, but it's convenient to hand your opponent a bag full of pieces.The black case is nice, seems sturdy, good zipper, plenty of room. Given the weight, I think the handle could be stronger, that seems like a strained point in the design. I'm not sure if the interior net is necessary, from a design standpoint, I'd rather have thicker fabric for the bags of pieces.PS: Pawn fell off the table onto wood floor and it survived ;-) 👍

The pieces are nicely weighted and the one-sided silicon mat is great. I do wish the board were a bit larger or the men smaller, but it is what it is. The case is nice, too. My Leap clock fits in it with no problem. I would definitely buy this again.

This is my first chess game ever, I am learning how to play. I have been over a couple friends house and played. My chess set is the best, large weighted pieces.

This is awesome for taking to wherever your next game might be. Super large pieces with some weight to them. Amazing quality.

As many have mentioned, the pieces really do live up to their reviews. I love the weight of the pieces. If you're playing in a park or worried about someone or something knocking your pieces over, its unlikely to happen with the added weight. As for the board, I didn't buy this set for the board so, all I can say about it is that it is flexible, nice tournament look. The bag is nice, I actually carry an analog watch in there too, so there's enough room for everything.

The silicone mat works as advertised, the pieces are nicely weighted and feel good.The case is protective , well built and packs easily. Well worth the price.
