Compared to its predecessor, BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM, the second generation provides a smoother ride and less road noise than normally expected from an off-road tire. Inspired by a symmetric design that has deep, self-cleaning autonomous tread blocks and linear transverse flex zone, the Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 molds an off-road tread compound into a Krawler T/A KX-inspired tire. This provides the flexibility desired to allow the tire to conform to off-road obstacles when operating at low speeds as well as being aired-down. The Krawler TEK that is included in the Mud-Terrain T/A KM2, consists of three components. The first component is aggressive sidewall lugs, while the second is cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds. Lastly, the BFGoodrich's TriGard casing with sidewall cords is up to 33 percent stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire. These improvements give for more bite and sidewall protection along as well as more strength and resistance to bruising caused by rugged trails.
