Great product! Easy to install. My only issue is, I wish you could order cylinders with a little less strength in them for doors like mine. My doors are VERY cheap and lightweight. SO much so that the inner panel on 1 door is now moving around inside the frame. Not the Hatchlift's fault. It works great and I'm sure it will work better with heavier doors. The reason I use them is because when the doors are open and the wind blows the doors smash into the side of the camper.

These go on very easily. Instructions are simple. About the only thing I will say is you need to predrill the plates for the piece the strut attaches to. Predrill them before installing them on the door. The door in this situation is just a foam core door and you don't want to drill all the way thru the door. So mark up the plate before installing and drill a small hole so the self taping screw will go in easily. Then install the plate to the door.

You only receive one ram and for my instalation 2 were required and I had to order a second one Double you cost but it was worth it to get the installation hardware.

Great kit and easy to install. They work like a charm for my baggage compartment doors on my 5th wheel. Highly recommend Hatchlift!

It appeared to be exactly what I needed as a kit but the struts were not strong enough to support my door. I ordered the kit that was suggested according to my door size and it didn't work. The design and installation was great, the weak struts is the problem. If you order this product order the heaviest they have. I returned the two kits that I bought. Why did you pick this product vs others?: It appeared to be what I needed.

This is an extremely well made product and I was looking forward to the installation and use on my Winnebago motorhome. Unfortunately, due to some latches in the compartments prevented installation in my rig. After several days of trying, I was able to finally communicate with someone at Hatchlift and they let me know that the lift kit would not work for me. Disappointed! If the kit had worked, I probably would have rated at least a 4. The only reason I would not give a 5 was due to their lack of customer service.

Bought two of these hatch lifts to put on the cargo door for RV. Installation took about an hour and a half for both. All the parts were there except it didn't come with self tapping screws as it says it does. So had to drill pilot holes in the cargo door to install. If you don't feel comfortable doing drilling I would suggest finding some self-tapping screws at a local hardware store. Otherwise make sure you use a variable speed drill and just run it at a slow speed to get through the door and any metal pieces that might be within the cargo door. Once everything was installed and the gas Springs connected, it worked perfectly. One additional thing to note is that the cargo door that I have flips up a whole 180°. You can only go 160° with these gas springs. So I just used a right triangle calculator that I googled and then figured how far out the top of the cargo door had to be from the side wall. Then cut a piece of wood at the correct length and put it at the top of the door so it kept the top of the door out to create the 160 degree angle. Hopefully you understand what I am talking about. The piece of wood that I used was 10 and 1/4 in long. I would recommend this product to other people but with the caveat that it doesn't come with self-tapping screws so be prepared to drill or go buy some self-tapping screws.

These struts are a life(head) saver for under slide-out applications. The directions for install were great and the easy adjust hole slots make it simple to get the correct height adjustment once installed. I now love opening my storage hatch.

I installed only one shock on hatch size that was recommended ton install 2, just 3 inches larger than recommended. I’m satisfied by the results that I might keep only one per hatch. I ordered just 2 to test so I will be able to complete 2 hatches. Hatches are 33wX20h

Facile d’installation. Le seul petit problème et que les vis autoperforantes ne fonctionnent pas. Il faut faire un trou avec une mèche. C’est mineur comme problème mais les instructions ne sont pas exactes.

I recommend this product. You will need to be fairly manual to install this. All the pieces that you need are in the package. Works really well. No issues.
