Lightning Fast!
For a while I held off on getting a CFexpress reader and just used the USB on my camera to transfer photos. I had a major project and my estimate was about a day to transfer my photos and I realized I needed to pull the trigger and get this. Finally, I could transfer my files faster than ever and I can actually fully reap the benefits of my expensive CFexpress cards now. The card slot functions well and fit the cards with no issues, it connects quickly to my MacBook, and the light on the top is nice to know that the connection works successfully. It is a little on the heavy side but for the size of it, that is not an issue.

Good stuff!
I was recently loading some photos into Lightroom and thought it really is taking it's time. I have a Sony A7CR and shoot in raw, so, big files. Anyway, started looking into card readers and realized quickly that the one I have I've owned for probably 10 years. Then thought, duh, technology has passed me by so, I got this... And what a difference! I shoot photos so use UHS II speed class 90 cards, fastest I can get for my camera. As far as the Cfexpress Type A slot is concerned, cannot comment as I don't use. I did get this, though, for if I get another Sony camera like A1 II or A7R VI, which isn't out yet, I'm ready to go with Cfexpress Type A. Really loving the download speeds, much faster, and it's really very well made and portable. Highly recommended!

This Lexar adapter is really worth it for smooth and professional work
I bought this adapter after wasting money on others that promised high speed but ended up creating a bottleneck in my workflow. I use SD cards for my videos, and with the other adapters, it was slow every time I had to remove them from the camera. I didn't understand why this was happening because the cards are SDHC II - V90 with 300MB/s speeds, and they weren't transferring data at that speed until I got this Lexar adapter. Recommendation: always use free software called CrystalDiskMark to check the read and write speeds of any drive you need. I recommend this adapter because it's exactly what you need for smooth, professional work.

It will wreck your cards!!! If you need something for CFA go with something else!!!
the second time I used mine and it destroyed 2 SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO SDXC memory cards ($299ea) and it cooked my Sony 320GB CFexpress Type A ($649).... I reached out to Lexar several times a week over the course of 4 months before the finally replied back to me, I explained again for the 50th time that it made my cards unusable, they wanted me to trouble shoot the problem with my last CF-A and SDXC memory cards. I told them to send me some out then we will trouble shoot it. A few more weeks went by and they get back to me, saying that they will only reimburse me for the READER, not my $1250 in damaged cards. I emailed back a receipt for $79.99+tx for this card reader. And a couple more weeks go by, and here comes another email asking if I had the tracking number for the insured shipping of the reader and my cards..... I explained to them that I'm not going to be paying for shipping, I'm not sending them my cards unless the reimburse me first and I'm definitely not going to help them commit insurance fraud. I haven't heard anything from them since and that was 6 months ago, I will be filing a small claims against them to get my $1330+tx and fees and interest. If your looking at this card reader, chances are you have a couple of expensive Sony CF-A cards and probably a couple of expensive SDXC high speed SD cards, or more. Well I could have Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 GM Lens for what this cost me. Just get the Sony card reader...

A worthy addition to the digital "film" world!
These CF Express cards are fast, rugged, and fit perfectly in this Lexar item. It is simple to use and very fast to load images onto my computers. The card reader is very well made and sturdy.

Shortes USB cable ever
Disclaimer: This is a short term review as I owned this for less than a month. I like everything about this reader except the cable that comes with it. The cable is 12" which is an impressive size for an adult film star but when it comes to cables it is miserably short. I guess it is not a problem for laptop users but most photographers who need high transfer speeds use a desktop setting. My desktop is under my desk so I have to crawl under the desk every time I need to download photos. The cable is also very thick - I guess it is needed for the transfer speeds listed below - and that makes it even more cumbersome to use with a desktop. With its own cable it was able to reach a blistering 260-290 Megabytes / sec (~2000 Mbit/sec) with a v90 SD card (rated at 300Mbyte/sec). With a generic cable it was only capable to reach 40 Megabyte/sec (~320 Mbit/sec). So if you are like me and use a desktop PC be ready to fork out another $15-25 for a longer 10GBit+ cable...

expensive but worth it
The amount of time this has saved me is absolutely ridiculous! It holds true to its word of fast transfer. What use to take me an hour, now takes less than 5 minutes. So for anybody who says their time is valuable. Get this and reclaim your time waiting.
