Whats the difference between the 1027 and 1027# besides the $2 difference in price?

I seriously don't think there is any real difference it's basically the same toaster ..I found a Hamilton brand name toaster at my local grocery store for 10 less than these on Amazon and it's fantastic, so u might be better off scoping out ur grocery stores, I found mine at Kroger
