This passes "unplug/replug UPS - computer stays on test" - where a CyberPower failed.
I bought this UPS to go with a mini PC I have. The PC doesn't have a battery. As a test, I unplugged the UPS, and the PC stayed on. I plugged the UPS back in, and the PC kept running as expected. I initially bought a CyberPower CP850PFCLCD 850VA Sinewave UPS. My PC would would turn off when I plugged the PC back in during this test, and it was repeatable. The monitor stayed on, with no visible power cycling. I got a refund on the CyberPower - as the point of a UPS is for your computer to stay on during an outage (!!!). I initially chose the CyberPower for the sine wave, easily replaced battery, and digital display. This is a line interactive step-approximated sine wave system. The manual says the transfer to battery delay on outage is "6ms typical, 10ms max." The manual says the stepped sine wave is appropriate for computers and peripherals and "is not intended for motor driven equipment," and the input power may be rejected (no mention of any associated hazard). This is fine with me. I actually prefer (a lot) the simple operation of this unit compared to the CyberPower. I don't need all those extra settings the CyberPower has, which I realized when I stepped through them at installation. With the APC, you just charge it for 10 hours, and then plug it in and go. The APC is also smaller (6 3/4" tall vs. 9 1/2"). The APC has a voltage sensitivity setting (low/default) for noisy (voltage range) input voltage, for use with equipment not sensitive to this fluctuation, to avoid switch overs to battery, which shortens battery life. I left it on default, and there have been no switch overs. When I unplug the UPS (power outage) there are initial warning beeps, followed by 4 beeps every 30 seconds. You can mute those beeps with a short press of the power button, and you won't get more beeps until the battery level gets critical. The beeps aren't too loud, and I'll probably leave them going during an outage. There is optional software to control the UPS, which I haven't tested and don't need.

Great UPS, has saved me several times
Have saved my system from going down several times now. Stands in quickly so I do not loose my internet or cameras. Love the multiple outlets so I can keep several devices running for over an hour until the power comes back on.

Good value but plug- in ports are close together.
I'm not a tech nut but understand the value of a good surge protector/ battery back up. This one is much smaller than the one I had but that's great. Didn't need as many ports as I had before and this being upright takes up less space. The downside is that the plug in sockets are pretty close to one another. Would not recommend if you have the plugs that are more rectangle or take more space. Otherwise, happy with this

This is what you need.....
If you have a home computer you need something like this. During the last storm I used it to recharge my flashlights while the power was out. I is one of 2 I have in my home. One is on the TV and and cable box the other is in the computer room. I have been able to watch TV for about 1 hour on backup battery when needed. Most of the time power outages don't last that long.

One less thing to worry about
Immediately noticed quality in the packaging, then in the UPS itself. The installation and setup documentation was very good. This is obviously a commercial product we are using in our home, but I am pleased with the price and value and the performance so far. Worrying about lost work on the PC due to an outage is a thing of the past, and it comes with the added benefit of being able to keep working during a power outage! Recommended!

Battery Not User Replaceable
The battery is not user replaceable. Their manual disagrees with their data sheets on this matter, which makes the product a fraudulent misrepresentation of its capabilities. This is a fatal flaw in my mind for a device which depends on a battery which will necessarily degrade or fail over time. I would recommend seeking a device with a user replaceable battery.

It works
I use this to power my cable modem and wireless router. With those small loads it says I might get 21 minutes of run time. Not very long in California where power outages are much more common and last longer. However, for the price that's about what I expected. I was disappointed to find that the battery is not user replaceable. That's what 'they' think. I've disassembled plenty of Schneider Electrics UPS system in my volunteer job. I'll bet it's already on YouTube. If not I'll find a way.
