Nice, solid, functional desk.
I had purchased a similar style desk for about $275, but decided that it just felt and looked cheap, so I gave it away. This Sauder desk was quite a bit more at about $650, but I had built a Sauder file cabinet in the recent past and was impressed by the structure. The desk matched that experience. It is very, very heavy with a good, solid feel. Everything was there and undamaged in the shipping boxes. I made sure I was right there with a dolly so the FedEx guy couldnโt drop it out off the truck, which is where I am guessing most of the damage that people report occurs. The two boxes are each fantastically heavy. It IS particle board with a thin (very thin) cherry veneer, so you have to be careful to not scratch it during assembly (or ever, I suppose). I do not think that veneer is wood, but more of a printed paper bonded to the surface. Itโs fine looking from 5โ, but certainly not โfine furnitureโ. I got rid of the keyboard tray structure as it was a bit narrow and forced you to sit perpendicular to an edge, instead of at a 45 degree angle. The tray is non structural, so I donโt think the top is any weaker as a result I am satisfied with the purchase so far. Be sure to allocate the better part of an afternoon for assembly.

Good value and really great offering
I looked at so many desks out on the market. This desk is wonderful in 2 major ways that other desks are very deceiving: 1. This desk's main section is 30" deep which is so necessary to accommodate a standard flat screen monitor/laptop and keyboard. Most other desks at/close to this price point look really great in pictures, but what you don't know is that many are too shallow to actually serve as quality, comfortable desks. Many are 21" or 22", some are even 19", which is way way too shallow for comfort. 2. This desk has a REAL LAMINATE top that's very durable. Many other desks at this price point are so misleading and are what is now known as a photo finish, but list themselves as laminate, which most folks picture as similar to Formica laminate. Photo finish is literally a printed picture on paper that is glued on. This can be easily ripped and nicked and any moisture literally destroys the finish. Other pros include: 1. Great height. I actually had to raise my seat a bit to be comfortable. Other desk reviews show clashing with arm rests or pinching on the tops of peoples' legs when moved in. 2. The color is awesome. 3. There a many drawers, a keyboard drawer and a bunch of smaller drawers. 4. There are reliefs at the bottom and several cable holes that make wire management really great. 5. A very nice product for the cost. Drawbacks are as other reviews state. 1. The boxes are heavy when delivered. I had to make a make-shift lifting strap from ratchet strap to hoist it up and move into my house. Or you'll need a friends/spouses help for sure. 2. The assembly is not for the faint of heart. I think the number of pieces really speaks to the quality versus of other desks in this category, but man there are a lot of parts and steps. I am very proficient at DIY assembly furniture and this was desk took the most effort of any I've ever done. Still 5 stars because I knew this when ordering, but it was a lot. Probably every bit of 5 hours. 3. Some pieces are photo finished, but these pieces are really not prominent and you'll never notice it. The lower plinths are which may get nicked up when vacuuming, but very tolerable for the value. All in all, super happy with this desk and would definitely buy again.

Very nice, heavy and sturdy. Smells and feels like real wood!
Very Nice. Only reason I am not giving this 5 starts is because. 1). Screws(for the knobs) are a little short for the 2 bigger draws. Counter sink will fix. 2). Draw holes did not line up for the 2 bigger draws. I would suggest wait until you put the desk together, Put in the Knob, then once everything is in line, put in the screws that hold on the drawer fronts. Person that said 6 hrs. is what I would go with, taking your time. Instructions are good, but make sure you look at pictures also. Very Sturdy, and nice. We purchased two of these. Although it's not real wood, the house is full of a wood smell. Also it looks and feels like real wood,. It comes in two boxes. One of the boxes I had to turn sideways, it was too wide to fit through the door. Very happy with these. Also purchased the bookcase, matches perfectly. the 2 drawer cabinet is on the way. Shipping was around a week. Took more time clearing our room then putting everything together. The drawers have ball bearings and are very smooth. Added 3/16/2018: Adjusting drawers, To those of you that are not use to putting on drawers and doors along with putting things together. 1). If part also requires "screws" loosen the "T" fittings, align the screw holes (flashlight will help), After screws are in lined up and threaded a little; THEN tighten the "T" fittings. 2). Draws: More then likely the drawers are NOT going to fit perfect / line up perfectly. You have 4 screws to adjust the settings. If they are really out of alignment, you have 8. a. The 2 screws next to the drawer front panel. You can loosen, and move both sides up/down. This will give you about an 1" using more then one drawer. b. If drawer is still out of alignment, you can adjust the 2 screws that are connected to the drawer fronts for the smaller drawers, 4 for the bigger drawers. c. On the 2 larger drawers you can also slightly adjust the screws that are attached to the "front" drawer, that attach to the drawer Fronts. 3). Door/Doors:The manual shows how you can adjust the door. "IF" lets say the horizontal does not seem to be working, You can do what I did for the 2nd desk I had trouble with. Take one of the screw out completely, See how it operates, then take out the other hinge screw and put it back in. 1st desk I did, the door lined up perfect. 2nd desk I did, it took about half an hour. The horizontal screws adjust did not seem to work until I removed them and put them back. If you follow the above steps, there is no reason why you should not be able to get all drawers aligned properly. Reminder: Again for the 2 bigger drawers, "wait" until you have the desk together, put in the center screw for the knob, and go from there.

Sauder Palladia L-Shaped Desk, Vintage Oak finish: a highly valued and satisfied purchase!
Both packages containing the materials and parts for assembling the Sauder Palladia L-Shaped Desk, Vintage Oak finish were delivered on time. However, the overall excitement soon turned into cautious optimism upon remembering what I had previously read online: 'that while it is not hard to assemble, it did take time.' The individual packages were heavy. I received assistance from my wife to help take them into the house. After opening the packages, my initial optimism almost dissipated when it took me longer than expected to locate the Instruction Booklet. I found it sandwiched in between the numerous pieces in one of the packages. It happened just at the time I was becoming concerned that it wasn't shipped at all. The majority of the individual parts were labeled. However, I soon discovered similar to what was written in the reviews, that a few parts and pieces were not labeled. That being said, the number of unlabeled pieces that came with my order was not substantial. Except for the parts referred to as 'ZZ' and 'YY;' the TOP DRAWER FRONT BRACKETS '6G;' DRAWER FRONT BRACKETS '9G' and '10G;' and the DRAWER FRONT 'U' in the Instruction Booklet, all the other parts and pieces were readily identifiable since were duly labeled. I subsequently found the 'U' label which was missing from the DRAWER FRONT without a label, stuck on one of the FRONT BRACKETS. The instructions were easy to follow and understand. Notwithstanding the concise and simple instructions provided, the numerous pieces to be assembled, and my limited skill set as a 'do-it-yourselfer' resulted in it taking me several hours to complete. After working a few hours daily for 3 consecutive days, I finally had the Sauder Palladia L-Shaped Desk in my home! The shortcomings of the few unlabeled pieces were insignificant in comparison to the triumph of the assembled desk. More importantly, the purchase price of $405.00 I felt was a bargain then and is even more so now! Also, its natural appearance adds value as an additional piece of decorative furniture. Ultimately, it increases my overall satisfaction with the purchase!

Damaged and stuck with it
The desk itself is nice; however, it came damaged. The box with the desk top arrived ripped in half. We were hopeful there was no damage, but once we moved to the new house and unpacked it from the ripped-in-half box, we discovered the front corner of the desk is completely smashed in. I couldn't return it because it was purchased in November, during Black Friday deals, and assembled in January, when we were finally moving into our house. Super disappointing to spend all of this money, and the front corner is destroyed, making it look like crap. The directions were not great. Sometimes it would say right, but the picture showed left. It helped that my fiancรฉ put together the matching cabinet and bookshelves first, so he had a sense of the directions. It took him the better part of a day to put it together.

Nice desk but time consuming to assemble
I'll go into more detail below, but the main things you should be aware of is that this desk is very time consuming to assemble, should be assembled in the room it's meant to be in (instead of trying to move it) and will take less time if you have a helper to screw in the many, many screws. In the end, once assembled, it is pretty nice desk for the price, but you 'pay' for the cheap price by having to invest your own time. Mine arrived with a piece of trim that was broken in half, a giant dent in the main desk surface and another board with a huge scratch on it. Sauder makes it relatively easy to get replacement pieces via their website. It took about 7 days to receive the replacement pieces (free of charge). The material of the desk is veneer over particle board, which is really heavy. I am a generally 'handy' person but the assembly of this desk was quite a task. It took me about 10 hours (by myself) to fully assemble this. The instructions are very detailed and accurate, but it's a RIDICULOUS number of screws and steps. My main issue is with the overall design of the parts... I feel like they could have gotten rid of like half the assembly steps if they came up with a better design to get everything to stick together. It's not difficult to assemble, it's just time consuming. As some others have mentioned, many of the parts do not come with any label on them - so you have to guess based on the pictures. I would highly recommend having at least one person help you with the assembly... there are a ton of screws that need to be screwed into various pieces that they can be working on while you're assembling the other parts. Once assembled the thing is a bit of a beast and I'm not sure that it would hold up well if you tried to move it without at least partial disassembly. All-in-all I'm pleased with the final product, but if I could do it again I would've invested more money into a desk that was more expensive but required less time to assemble.

Instructions are ok, could be better
Beautiful desk, Iโm very handy but getting old, it took me about 7 hours after getting off work to assemble it and only had to fix one hole that was in the wrong side. A couple of pieces werenโt marked and didnโt take long to figure out where they go. It is very heavy and Iโm glad it came in two boxes. Luckily someone did a very good job engineering this thing, pretty much everything fit perfectly, although the drawers are very tight. But I would prefer that over the alternative. Give yourself plenty of time to assemble, best not to do after a work day or like I did two nights after work. Minor damage in shipping even after the end of one box was crushed, good job on styrofoam on the ends, the damage wasnโt even near the end and not in a visible spot after assembly. I just canโt see giving less than 5 stars for the little problems Iโve had.

Beautiful desk, clear instructions - so worth the effort!
After a thorough search for the perfect home office upgrade, I settled on this executive desk from Amazon, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The assembly process, while challenging, was a rewarding DIY project for me (52 yo female) with lots of experience in building and assembling furniture. It took about 6-7 hours to complete the assembly alone, and I did need help flipping it over. Despite eight pieces being unlabeled, including a crucial piece from Step 1, the clear and detailed instructions provided a roadmap to success. It's imperative to lay out all pieces beforehand and closely examine each diagram, especially when assembling the drawers. The slides are numbered 1-4 and might appear upside down, but fear not, that's intentional. Additionally, watch for the wood pieces at the bottom of the uprights; they are unlabeled and are easy to miss, but are crucial for securing the desk properly. The materials exceeded my expectations, with a nicely laminated surface that adds a touch of elegance to my office space. The pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly, and the package arrived without any damaged parts, which is always a relief. The design and functionality of the desk are top-notch. While I would have appreciated a wider pencil drawer, the keyboard drawer and other storage compartments are thoughtfully designed. The bottom drawer is spacious enough for either letter or legal-sized files, which is a major plus. Moreover, the desk's cord management system is great, allowing me to keep all wires neatly tucked away. The desk arrived in two well-packaged boxes, and I recommend inspecting for any potential shipping damage upon delivery (I did have to reorder this because the shipper sent the first back due to visible damage). Considering the quality, aesthetics, and functionality, this desk represents a significant value, costing less than half what a comparable, fully-assembled desk would have sold for.In conclusion, I am over the moon with my new executive desk. It not only looks stunning in my space but is also highly functional for my daily needs. The assembly process, while not for the faint of heart, was well worth the effort. My advice to potential buyers is to take your time with the assembly and to thoroughly review each step before proceeding. I am delighted with how it transformed my space, and while I hope I never have to move it, I am thrilled with the result.

Sturdy desk (assembly required LOL)
One thing that is correct is that this will take you at least 8 hours to assemble. It's not extremely hard but, it has a LOT of parts and pieces and some are not marked. I found the manual very accurate and I actually enjoyed putting it together but, I'm sure not a lot of people will not enjoy spending one entire day putting it together. Before start the assembly, take out ALL the parts and pieces and try to put them in an order, specially with the screws. If you don't do this, you'll be putting a comment like the one above mine that is saying that the manual doesn't indicate the right screws. The manual is very clear in this aspect. You just need to start the assembly in an organized way. Make sure to assemble it on the room that it's going to be installed. After assembled, it's very heavy to move it around. The desk is VERY sturdy and nice. I actually removed one drawer so I could fit well with my office chair. I paid 399 plus shipping, which was great compared to other places where I found this same desk (i.e. Sears and Wayfair). It's the same desk they have, with the same assembly required but much more expensive on those other websites. For the price I paid, I would definitely recommend this product to anybody looking for a big and sturdy desk.

Solid desk
Came in 2 boxes. Labeled as 137lbs and 134lbs. After opening the boxes and laying out the parts (needs a lot of space) it took me about 6 hours (no breaks - tried to go fast). A few pieces were dented or scratched from shipping but mostly non visible, except the main top which has a dent. Wasn't enough for me to worry too much about. The finish is fairly easy to scratch so be careful. The drawers are a little stiff but all lined up and worked well. The door also lined up well. Instructions were mostly straightforward and there was a video link as well which I watched as I went along which helped a few times. Overall it's a nice looking desk, lots of room and very practical for me working from home full time.

Itโs just ok
Nice desk however it came in a million different pieces. Drawers are also really sticky. Not sure I would order again as itโs cheaply made.
