What a lovely book! Covering the lives of 20 amazing women throughout the ages. The author has thoroughly researched these women and carefully selected them not only from different times, the past and present, but from around the world coming from different backgrounds, races, ethnicities and nationalities — All connected by their faith (Islam) and their exemplary character, making them perfect role models for the youth today. I loved the authors introduction. It was great to read about why she chose each women and her intentions behind writing this book. I’ve read about some of these women before and it’s always great to see a different perspective as the take-aways are different. Talking about take-aways, each story has a reflection at the end in bullet points, making it easy to hold on to important lessons in each story. The stories are easy to read, which is brilliant for youths, (targeted age, but I think adults can benefit too!) and each story finishes with a question section, which is great for group discussions. The cover is beautifully illustrated and there are sprinkles of illustrations inside, bringing a refreshing touch to a non-fiction book. Over all, I highly recommend this for everyone’s bookshelves. I’m hoping to reread it again with my children, covering one section at a time.

After reading this heart-warming book, any Muslim girl or woman will feel reinvigorated and passionate about what Islam can offer them, and what they can offer Islam. It’s a must read for Muslim boys and men and speaks to them loud and clear, that if you support the women in your life, they can not only shatter the glass ceiling but reach the skies, not only in this world, but also the next. The book, through 20 examples, shows that every passion is unique but ultimately the goal is Allah, and His Pleasure. The author Maryam Yousaf opens up valuable discussions which should take place in every Muslim home. The book shows that the treasures of this temporary life are worthless when compared to the honour that Allah has given each Muslim. The variety and diversity in this life is created by Allah for a reason, to give thanks to Him and to obey him as the ultimate source of beauty, so every woman must love this for themselves, just like these 20 Remarkable Women did. So, reach for your passion, but stay close to your Islam. Just like them, humble yourself in front of Allah and He will elevate your soul beyond what you can imagine; the gardens of Jannah to reside eternally.

This book includes amazing real life stories as well as clear summaries of each inspirational story. It is put together in such way which is easy for all ages to understand . The author has compiled such vivid stories which we can envision clearly. Alhumdullilah beautifully written compilation of amazing muslim women who have lived through the ages; before and after Islam and both historic and modern, yet they have one thing in common - They are all inspirational to Muslim and Non Muslim girls and women. I think girls aged 9 plus should easily understand and empathise with each unique story. The reader learns just how amazing role models these muslim women are and how islam is not a religion of subjugation rather a religion which empowers women and allows them to be looked up to. I honestly wish I had books like this to read when I was younger! I would have felt proud of being muslim at a younger age and would want to talk to my friends about real women and have positive conversations about Islam!

I love this book! It is filled with remarkable stories of Muslim Women, all of whom are incredibly inspiring and I can take several lessons and knowledge from. This is a beautifully presented and written in a simple, accessible manner. The stories are all incredibly relevant to life and the struggles of being a Muslim Women just now, showing us the importance of our faith and keeping patience through trials. I also love the discussion points and think they are a great addition to the book, as they make it more engaging. I highly recommend the use of this in educational setting as it would certainly be useful to young people! Overall, I recommend every sister reads this book, particularly teenagers and young women. This book will bring you comfort and peace, and will encourage you to be the best Muslim you can be, in a world where it is so difficult to do so. Fatima, Scotland

What a brilliant way to compile such valuable information of real role models Simple and enjoyable to read! My fave part is the reflections and i believe this book is an excellent way for readers to engage in dialogue with each other. From my point of view it’s a good chance for me to discuss the points and reflect on them as a family with my daughters and son! Some woman I had been aware of but of course didn’t know such details of them and others were completely new! I’m very excited for my girls to read it, and for them to reflect and admire the real hero’s of this world that are here and gone yet given us so much!

This book should be a part of curriculum for islamic teachings. There is a deep reseach involved in writing this book to bring out the inspiring stories of the muslim women from different parts of the worlds. Every story ends with lesson and reflection and then questions for discussion.This encourages the youngsters to feel engage and involved. This book is an inspiration for the young muslim girls to find out how so many muslim women had a marvellous, courageous and brave role in the history.

As a 30 year old adult i was unsure about how relevant this book would be for me. Well i can tell you that it was an amazing read! I love that the stories represent muslim women from across the world and at different periods of time. I was able to relate to every women and learn something new. I highly recommend this book for everyone- women or not, muslim or not. If you are looking for something different, something inspirational, then this is it.

If I have to say one thing about this book it would be "I wish I had written it! " This book is beautifully written and has some of the most wonderfully drawn illustrations. ❤❤❤ Highly recommend this one
