Did anyone else have a horrible chemical smell upon opening their salt container? i am hoping this was a bad jug, but i'm asking before reordering...

Mine didn't smell. I just checked it out and no odor. Could be the packaging. I have handled salt for the last 60 years and never had it take on an odor. I guess there's a first time.

How is this salt for Margareta drinks? Salt that is "branded" as Margareta salt is so expensive.

This salt isn't for Margareta's, the granules are large and thick like those used for soft pretzels or bagels (wonderful for those btw!). Just buy kosher salt, all the beverage salt I have ever seen or bought is kosher salt. Perfect for drinks, food, and cheap!

Is this a crystal natural salt or is it the compressed salt from powder that you get in frozen soft pretzel bags at the market? I want the latter.
