Excellent dog door!
An amazing dog door. I bought a smaller one from this brand back in 2018 and loved it, so I bought a bigger one when I got a bigger dog and still love it. The one currently in my door has been there for years, and I've never had a problem with it. I can easily lock it when needed, and it holds up great in California winters, so I can't say much about how it deals with snow. I went through several different dog doors in the beginning of my search and returned them all until this one. It fit perfectly and was super easy to install. I can't think of a single complaint when it comes to this dog door.

Easy to install.
Great product. Our 2nd one. The first one lasted 24 years. Even our little one (25 pounds) and lots of foster dogs were able to use this doggie door. I (female) had no problems installing it.

Missing template
I gave this 5 stars since even with the missing template I was able to install the door in about an hour. I bought the same exact door 7 years ago on Amazon and it’s currently installed on an exterior metal door. Didn’t notice much difference - they’re both sturdy, functional, etc. I did notice that “offwhite” color is now light gray instead of light beige. I was expecting them to match but oh well. I bought this to install on an interior door (to basement) that’s 2 inches thick and hollow so I needed the telescopic frame to hide the interior of the door. I previously had a smaller cat door on it but it didn’t have a deep frame and I was using tape to protect the interior of the door (to give you a mental pic of how awful it looked). I have an average handiness level, so measured the size hole needed and marked it with a pencil. Then laid down blue painters tape along the lines to prevent my cheap door from chipping out, and cut the hole with a jigsaw. Fit the frame in and screwed both sides together. I would say the screws were the hardest part. I had to hand tighten each one rather than using the drill because they were such a tight fit and I was afraid the plastic frame would crack. Got them all in with a bit of elbow grease and the door looks great!

Nice door and been using one 20 some years now.
I have used this exact one for probably 23 years and I buy a new one to swap out the old ones every now and then. I have many dogs and this held up to even huge pits just jumping thru it, large Shepard's, Doodles and more and never any problems. If someone had this flap just fall off, that is not the norm and either defective when it came, it was not put on right or their dogs might grab and tug on it. I can say this as 20 some years 3-4-5 dogs at a time and some HUGE and never any flap problems. The only thing I can think of after having this one all these years is, get an extra flap when they go on sale. Every 4-5 years "depending" on your area and the weather, I have the flap start to curl at the sides. I think due to the weather plus so many dogs going in and out thru it every day. Then I need to replace it or air can get in.

Best one for the best price.
I had bought 2 other brand's of Dog door's both large the biggest of the 2 was only 15 1/5 in. This one is a lot bigger. My dog's can actually fit through it. And it was cheaper. It was easy to install. Make sure you have a metal cutting saw blade that will go all the way through or you will have to cut one side then flip and cut the other like I did. If you have a steel door make sure to go around all the edges you cut and grind the burrs off. You get a better fit and won't cut yourself. My cut was to long so I shimmed the bottom with a piece of 2 x 2 . It worked fine. Make sure to start all screws then tighten each one a little at a time until it's all tight but don't over tighten or you will strip out the holes. If you do tighten all the other screws then put a drop of super glue in screw hole and screw the screw in to coat threads and clamp or hold it down till it sets. I live in Oklahoma so we get strong winds. When the winds hit 30 + it blows open. Other than that I love it.

Great item.
I bought a size too small and I am NOT a handy man so was afraid to cut a hole in my door so hired a handy man who charged $200 to install it!!! This brand electronic door is well worth the money. It keeps out cold and critters and there is even a customer support line if you have any questions. I expected the door to open on its own when activated by the key but the dog has to push it open with their nose. That's fine but it's a tad heavier than the ones that are just a plastic flat and don't lock or keep out cold and that wear out pretty fast. Also, no electrical needed - it's all battery operated and even though my dog will lay near it and keep it going off over and over, the batteries last a long time. Changing them requires a screw driver and I think I will have to reprogram it when I replace the batteries. That's no big deal but I will have to refer back to the directions to refresh my memory as to how to program it for my dog's key tag. I love this thing. I have a 26 pound wire fox terrier - about 17 inches at the shoulder and he has to shimmy through it and he's not crazy about that so I often just open the regular people door for him. That's totally my mistake because the website says to get a bigger size for a dog the size of mine. I thought since this small size was about the size of the old just a plastic flap doggy door that I could get away with this smaller door. I think the next size up would be a considerably heavier door and it might take some doing to get my dog to push through such a heavy door. But, no worries about unwanted critters getting in and keeping out the weather is a huge improvement over the plastic flaps that potentially let anything (critters, weather, people) in. Maybe one day I will upgrade to the next size up. The door I bought ended up also being too wide for the door where I wanted it installed, so we just framed the hole we cut in the door with scrap wood and that easily filled the gap. I wouldn't want to be without a doggy door like this! My dog can escape in case of fire even if I'm not home. He can go potty whenever he needs and he can patrol the yard whenever he chooses. My dog loves it too!

This was a replacement for an old dog door of the same brand. I had to get the this brand again because I couldn't find another dog door with the same cutout size. Anyway, my old one has been a good door. After seven years the plastic on the outside had degraded in the sun and looked pretty bad, but the door itself was not broken and worked fine. For some reason the screws that came with the new dog door were too big so I had to find smaller ones. Once I gave up trying to force the screws the door came with, it was easy to install.

I wanted a pet door for a long time for a mechanical room where our cat litter box was placed. Finally ordered this door based on good reviews and simple use for a cat, also liked a clear flap so that a cat can see through. Installation took us about 1 hour, but easy enough to install. I referred a few reviews from amazon for installation advice. Door is simple, durable and well made. Cat took a few days to learn to use the door, but now no hesitation :) I am very happy with the product!

A porta é firme, e permite um excelente acabamento. A borda em metal nao deixa o plástico balançar com o vento, e a passagem do meu York é muito suave. Recomendo.
