The Ultimate Cartridge Filter Cleaner for Pools & Hot Tubs

I don't write positive reviews often enough, but this device warrants my review! I was very skeptical that this device would make a difference cleaning my pool filters, but it has! I was prepared to send this back as a gimmick but it actually helps! I have used the hose with my thumb to widen spray or create more pressure, I have used a pistol-type hose attachment with many different settings to create fan shape water and high power spray, and I have even used a pressure washer on two lowest pressure nozzles to clean my filters. I don't recommend the pressure washing method as it tore the filter. This gadget is far superior to your thumb in hose method and to my surprise, also works better than pistol-type hose attachments. You don't need to constantly change settings for whatever needs sprayed on the filter, you get 3 or 4 different sprays in one gadget with only one spray pattern! You control how spray pattern hits filter two ways, first is distance. At close range you are spraying several streams across a semi-circle and it cleans about a four-inch space on the filter. Need a more focused spray? Pull the flosser back about 5 inches and all the streams meet in the center causing some kind of water collision that works very well to clean smaller spaces more thoroughly. The other one to two spray patterns are accomplished by simply twisting your wrist or the filter by 90*. This wrist-twist turns the spray pattern vertical so all the sprays are aimed into one pleat of the filter aiming in and cleaning about a 4-5 inch length inside a single pleat. When it loosens debris pull the flosser back about 5-inches and hit it with the water where the streams collide, for a more focused spray! That's it! Very simple, very effective! And finally, being made of metal (aluminum is my guess) it is made to last longer than a plastic piece. You can drop it, I have, and it doesn't break. This makes filter cleaning quicker and easier. I will be keeping mine!

Wow ! This thing works like a charm ! Such a simple idea, but such a worthwhile purchase ! You just screw it onto your hose and twist the knob. Then you see all the gunk coming out ! Who knew there was so much hiding in there ?! Our nephew suggested we get this to clean our hot tub filters. He uses one for cleaning both his pool and hot tub filters. This is one of those "Now why didn't I think of it?" ideas. Simple but truly useful. Thank you.

Strangely effective. Dropped filter-cleaning time from almost an hour to about ten minutes, with better results. Quarter-turn shutoff valve began slipping from its handle, tightening the screw didn't solve the issue. Takes some creative manipulation to affect water flow, but it's worth the trouble.

Amazing Product I normally do not write reviews, but I wanted to share that this filter cleaning tool is a game changer. I absolutely dread cleaning the pool cartridge filters and I thought the price of this item was a little high. I have to say that this is a solid tool. My filters were very dirty, don't judge, but I had neglected them months longer than I should have and was not looking forward to cleaning them. This tool made cleaning my large pool filters a breeze! Cut the time on each filter in half even with all of the build up. Like I said in the beginning a game changer. If your on the fence about getting one of these for the price it is well worth it. Saves time and money in water costs.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Did really well on getting the debris in the pleats out. Much better than a hose with spray nozzle - quicker, cleaner and used a lot less water. Photo of before and after. Took a little under 10 minutes to clean each filter. Sprayer seems to be well constructed. I would definitely buy again.

We recently bought our house with a pool. Not sure the last time the filters were cleaned but they were filthy and slimy. I started the journey of cleaning them with a sprayer nozzle on the garden hose. I knocked off the 1st layer of filth and soaked the filters in filter cleaner overnight. I Figured there had to be a better way so I found this. It arrived the next day and did OK but didn't remove the filth deep inside the pleats. It was using way more water than the spay nozzle too. After 1 filter I gave up on it and went back to the nozzle. The design and construction was good but it just did not get the deep stuff in the filters. I think it's great for the initial clean maybe and possibly on less dirty filters. I am keeping it but may explore the other options out there with comb like nozzles

Had to use it a couple times before posting. For me, it works on my Hayward Filter with 4 cartridges so much better than a hose spray attachment. First to get technical, my city water pressure is around 30-40psi - depending on time of day. I only know this because I wanted to add more heads to my lawn sprinking system and the lawn techs said, "..added heads to the zone could not be supported for effective sprinkling, a new zone should be added...". Second, I use a 5/8" garden hose to supply water to the new attachment. When I 1st used it, I tried to get the High Pressure as the point to clean the cartridge, top example photo from product.., wrong... Tried again and used bottom photo from product to sweep initial "crud" from cartridge then did the cartridge again using the concentrated spray, top example photo. Turned cartridge upside down and did it again with the concentrated spray. Final results were amazing to me, haven't seen the cartridges that clean since they were new. One last note, my pool is surrounded by trees which I love. Unfortunately, off my property I'm surrounded by cottonwood trees...,my nemesis ;), so I have to clean my cartridges often. Did it save me time? A bit but not 50%. Did I get wet? No more than I generally did using the spray attachment. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Finally, sorry for the long post...., Hint - buy some Skimmer Socks if your dealing with all sorts natural debris from trees/plants, especially cottonwoods, they sure make it easier to clean your cartridges later using this great product.
