I desperately needed new key fobs for my jeep. It had only come with one, and it was being held together with black electrical tape and I knew it would just stop working one day and then I'd be in trouble. I knew the dealers would be overpriced, and I don't trust my local jeep dealership, anyway, after they messed up my vehicle fixing a recall (had no choice but to take it to a dealer). A co-worker told me Ace Hardware would program these for me, so I purchased them and waited in line at my local Ace only to be told they would only program key fobs they supplied (for $300-ish!!). To my co-worker's credit, they USED TO do any brand, but now they struck a deal with some supplier. After calling around a bit, I found a locally-owned locksmith who programmed them for $40. He had no problems doing it, and tested both key fobs on my vehicle before handing them over...I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. So 5 stars to the product as they worked perfectly with my jeep, but be warned that you should make sure there is a company available to program them for you (if you can't self-program) before you purchase. For a minute I thought I was going to have to return these and pay a lot more money unnecessarily.

Instructions were easy to follow and worked like a charm. But fyi you must have two working keys to do the programming! But luckily it has an easy pop top to switch keys from one fob to another

Exactly what I ordered the buttons went out on my old one so I just put the old computer looking piece inside of this one and it works perfectly

I like that it was so much cheaper and easier than getting it from the dealer. And if you have two working keys you can program it yourself. However, it fits poorly in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and often the act of removing the key from the ignition causes the panic button to activate, which can be annoying and embarrassing. Don’t hold the key fob itself while pulling it out. Just pull on the key chain, which helps it come out straight and reduces the incidence of the panic button triggering.

I had two working keys for my 2008 Jeep grand Cherokee and I thought before one of them stops working or we happen to lose oneI should get some backups. I followed the procedure for programming and both keys worked perfectly!

DO NOT BUY - these are NOT replacements for the OEM fobs - they do NOT have the "proximity" feature - after programming they will open the door locks, or even do the remote start, but you can't actually drive because they are not proximity keys and so the vehicle's sensor does not recognize them. So you would have to pop the start button off of the dashboard and insert the fob and turn it in order to drive the car. Total waste of time and money. Get what you pay for.

I was able to follow the instructions to code the 2 fobs I bought. I'm pleasantly surprised that they work. Only have one problem and that is when I turn the key off and pull it out from the ignition the panic button goes off. I have since figured out that I can pull the key out by not touching the fob and it won't go off. I just give my key ring a pull and the fob comes out of the ignition without the panic button going off.
