I installed this item a couple of years ago and it has recently stopped working. I disassembled it to find a fried circuit board that left the light on but did not ring the bell. I was also displeased with the installation. The plastic back screws to the wall but the brushed metal faceplate is applied with double stick tape. Now that I've taken it apart it doesn't quite hang together. All that said, it did look very nice even when it didn't ring the bell.
